So is it right that a team is going to divvy 1 next season and they didn't even make the gf? You are correct, Sunshine has qualified for Div 1 for season 2012/13 due to winning the minor premiership. Whether or not there is another team promoted this year will depend on who wins the GF series.

Sounds like tonight had it all. Pitchers changing undershirts, three run bombs, guys getting hosed at the plate and a dust up and three guys tossed. Anybody there and has something to add? Well done to the burners going 1-0 up with a one run win tonight.

What was wrong with Wiltshire's undershirt?
How'd the blue happen?

The blue happened in the usual fashion, there was a collision at home plate. Arguably a little rough, but hard to say, it is a Grand Final after all!

What was wrong with Wiltshire's undershirt? How'd the blue happen? Still trying to work out everything that went on during the scuffle at home plate. Ist parts are fine and straight forward, Runner on third 1 down, batter hits a fly ball that gets shagged by Cain Bumpstead, down by his shoelaces, in short right field and then Bumpstead tattoo's a throw to the plate that saw McDonald hosed to complete the double play. Great play overall That all makes sense so far. Hunter then, after making the successful tag (and third out) that saw McDonald sprawling on the carpet a couple of metres or so past the home plate, then goes after McDonald and sticks the ball up in his face while giving him a mouth full, McDonald then attempted to gain his feet but Hunter remained so close to his face that the ball was in danger of being forced up McDonalds left nostril. A bit of shoving and pushing went on by Hunter and the benches emptied. Did not realise it at the time, buts its looks like Ryan Booth was also thrown out. As to what the exact charges are I have no idea. Some speculation that the tribunal may be sitting Thursday. We shall await to hear more. Bottom line, it escalated because Hunter was a tool. As for the Whiltshire's undershirt, not 100% sure of the actual reason, but it looked like might have been to do with the Valhalla logo. When Whilstshire came in to throw, and had finished his warm up, Dom then started to sob up to the plate umpire about something to do with his undershirt. There was then 10 mins wasted as he went and changed the undershirt with another player and then had to go thru his entire warmup again

Agh and so the little Chinese whispers begin, let's try this from another point of view, greggy was apparently told the same thing against Melbourne so you had a little warning before reaching last nights game, a quick change over and the game was ready to go, so as for Dom asking I see no problem, now for the push and shov, it seemed to me that the runner went a little high with some elbows which prompted the catcher to hold the ball up in front of the umpire and runner, didn't look like it was in his nose but hey keep protecting your beloved bombers as it seems your a passionate supporter, as to how the outfielder got tossed is out of my reach, a guy running in from centre and about the 35th in I can't see that holding up too well, but good to see all 30 players from the bombers bench move out, it was between the 18 on the field not the 20 emergencies sitting there yapping. Shaping up to be a ripper of a final series, hoping the weather clears up for the game tonight, hopefully we don't get to soaked.

That was one helluva game either way and as a spectator you couldn't posibly ask for more in one game of baseball.
Great starting pitching by both Huss and Gareth Formiano. GF kept the Black hitters off balance early and was terrific.
White logo on the pitching sleeve is why the change of shirt and he should have known that would have been debated. It took a few mins and i think he took a further 3 angry pitches before he was ready so it didn't hold up the game.
From someone who's been knocked out at a play at the plate, i reckon Hunter was okay to show some emotion to MacDonald who went in hard. Toss em' and hopefully start fresh for Saturday, but niot sure that will be the case if tribunal meeting this week.

maybe running in from centrefield and punching the runner in the face might be a good place to start just next time dont get caught by the men in blue

From a spectator point of view the game was great and played hard by two sides who are clearly the best 2 sides in the division IMO. As for the bench clearing episode 2 things, the catcher showed the ball to the runner in a very animated way but was nowhere near the runners face, the hit was high but both players knew it was coming and you would expect it in such a close game. Everyone got a little excited as it was a game changing play, lots of push and shove and nobody would have been able to see who punched and wrestled anybody if at all. But I think this was all fuelled by some very close calls at 2nd base which pushed the anxiety levels up a few notches. One particular one was an interference call on a runner sliding into second base breaking up a double play, fairly imo, perfect slide over the bag, which would have allowed a run to score. Top baseball played hard by strong clubs wanting to win but everyone shook hands after the game and will face off again Saturday well done to both teams, loved it.

Great win by Sandy last night. Looked very strong the whole game. I hope Bonbeach bring their best game for this weekend. All the best for both teams.

bags, you are correct when you say it was a good win by Sandy but to say they looked strong all night is a gross overstatement, they looked less lacklustre than Bonbeach and in fact were going at about the same pace until they got a couple of runs on the board and then they picked their tails up, there was one kid on the whole park that looked like he wanted to take it on.... in fact that was the most unemotional, lifeless grand final game I have seen almost forever......in stark contrast to the night before.
whichever of these teams gets the gong to go to D1 will have to amp it up about 1000 percent, oh and bring some spectators along with them

If they do have spectators i hope they have more tact then the one at the masters grand final who apparently had a cheap shot at the umpires during the medal presentation then hid behind the players

;)Yes, Tuesday nights game was a cracker.
There are a few Dickers playing in the finals this week. D1 Essendon; Tom Dicker Blackburn; David Dicker
D2 Sandringham; Brad Dicker
Looks like a wet weekend, so should create some interesting baseball out at Altona. Good luck to all the teams and players.

3up3down (sergeant?). My money is on an experienced Jays lineup to come home with a wet sail. They've got a lot of experienced heads in that team and I wouldn't be surprised if the wake-up call from game 1 results in some mercy rule activity this weekend. Jays are a team fully capable of applying the hurt when they all take the field with one thing in mind. Don't get me wrong, sandy are a good young team, but in finals, experience often wins the day.

Could really run off at the mouth after a great day at Altona for the Royals but I will try to contain myself, firstly tcs the medal presentation on Monday night was all in good humour, everybody including the umps were laughing as we generally do in masters, your informant saw it differently, I believe he is wrong and I will elaborate if you want to continue the subject. To barb05 you just lost your money.
