"Good evening, The Seniors’ fixtures are now available from the Summer League website (www.vicsummerleague.baseball.com.au). The first three rounds fixtures will only be available at this time, with the remaining fixtures available within the coming week. Please accept our apologies for the delay and inconvenience that this has caused. A statement and relevant amendments to the Playing Conditions will be sent tomorrow to explain the rationale behind the delay. Good luck for the upcoming season. And if same post reads true, Ormond is still in Division Two. Nup, looks like Chelsea are back in and Ormond are out.

So is Chelsea back in because of an appeal? They back in because it makes it easier to fill the bye? I am impartial either way. But if BV has ruled one way and then changed their mind to suit a draw that is not right! I am not in the know with the process but have gone on what I have read on the forum.

Also noticed 1st 3 games for port Melbourne away. Any news as to where home games are to played? Are they going to play their home games after Christmas when the ground is complete? Could be a another reason the draw is struggling to be released.

Chelsea are back in because they pointed out to BV that there are 4 or 5 other clubs that also do not meet the junior requirements

Not to get into the junior criteria debate. When were Chelsea outed then reinstated? If this was ever the case? Playing devils advocate, how can Chelsea point out other clubs in eligibility based on junior program's that aren't finalised for this season? Is that a basis of the last season?

What is the plan with port Larry? Away games before Christmas? Home games different venue? I heard that was on offer but haven't seen it. Obviously ask these questions as with the draw not being released these answers are not obtainable.

There's nothing untoward about any of it, Coalmined.
As larry42 says, ground works would not have been a factor in delaying the draw.
Because of work on the ground, Port Melbourne's first and seconds fixtures will be away games until after the Christmas break. The club thirds will play "at home" (IE on the footy ground, which BV has given the OK to be used without a mound, I believe).
More detail will be provided in the BV Season Preview to go online late Wednesday or early Thursday.
From the sounds of it, the revamped Mariners ground will be a ripper.

Kc not implying anything untoward with port. Just looking for the answers that a fixture would provide.

No worries CM.
With the understandable frustration being felt at the moment (probably within BV as well), I thought a good news baseball story (about the revamped PM ground) wouldn't go astray.

Rebels playing all four senior games at Newport on Sunday, first of hopefully many four game derbies. A great initiative that benefits all clubs.

I hope that outer diamond is in better nick than it used to be though mate. I like the idea of 4 game derbies BUT only if the outer diamond is half decent (and many are not) as then it isnt fair on the 3s and 4s who pay the same subs and miss out on playing on the main diamond each time this happens.

Summer League Division One and Division Two Preview is now posted on BV and the Summer League website.
There will be plenty of other news not yet to hand and thereby not covered by the preview as clubs settle their rosters over coming weeks.
Thank you again to the clubs and individuals who have helped in the supply of information.

As perhaps expected the Div4 North/West Fixture has already changed with Doncaster withdrawing its team today creating a Bye for now in that Division and presumably the fixture on the website will be updated soon.

Footscray were due for the bye round one, if Doncaster have pulled out that eliminates a bye. Much better if there is no bye now. :champ:

Yeah as Kev said Willo, Footscray wernt in Div 4 Nth/West so now there is a Bye in North/West after Doncaster pulled out.
Now I believe someone may have now pulled out of Div4 East creating a Bye there so hopefully BV will go with a 6 and 8 team Division and not two 7s unless there is a new team out there looking to come in and fill the gaps ;-)
They could even look at splitting the three Div 4s into two North/West and South/East ?

Is it me, or do there seem to be some struggles with some clubs filling teams? We're some a little clubs hasty in expanding, or do you think there's maybe a bit of natural contraction, die too the tougher economic times? We're having people say they might have to rethink playing, as they can't afford the fees!
