Now the bus stop will be twice as long.... and are they going to put up a "Red Monster" to stop the cheap left field home run?

Approx 10 weeks out from the start of the summer season and still no word on coaches for a couple of teams. The pool must be starting to dry up now.

Moorabbin baseball club would like to announce Ben Laux as the new coach. Ben is a past player that has returned to the dome and the club could not be more excited!I think in the time away from the club Ben has learnt a lot about the game and himself from the various players and coaches he has played for and with. This is a win for the club and goes to show everyone who wished him luck when he decided to leave have made it an easy decision for him to return and try and improve a club he loves!

Yes wyatt it is a big job mate but i aint afraid to get in and get my hands dirty you know that. We are going to start by stripping things back and enjoying the game itself. Clearly when a club has a duck egg in the wins column they are a long way back but we will be fine, the commitee are working hard off the field, so all things going well hopefully things come together. Having said all that i wont be doing a Brett Ratten and making any bold predictions !

lol. Atleast he got out of the Panthers. Did warn him, you cant change a club in one season. Especially if they don't want to. The Panthers have a good side,Benny will get respect from the players, they just need to get more people to training, like? the coach? lol

I understand there will be no Waverley Wildcats this season as the club is back to either 5/6 senior teams, but instead of a bye, I have heard that Chelsea has been excluded from Division Two over the last couple of days, though an appeal is apparently pending and will be heard sometime this week.

Stewballs, pretty sure Waverley are placing Div 1, then Div 4 /5 teams in and no teams in Div 2. I know they struggled with some numbers in lower grades last year espcially with the high numbers of junior kids playing senior baseball. Not sure where the info on Port being demoted out of Div 2 has come from. They are listed in Div 2 and working with BV on their game schedule pretty much on a weekly basis. They did have to go to the Summer league Committee to explain their low junior numbers and seek a continued exemption to play D2. That was instigated by BV.

That takes it back to 12 teams. That's a much better number of teams. No disrespect to Chelsea, but there were two too many teams last couple of seasons. A more even draw is now likely, with all teams playing each other twice. And fewer mid week games too. I just think trying to expand too quickly. Hope wokkas enjoying his first few weeks at the helm. Looking forward to getting along to see the grubs play port. Always an interesting game.

Spoke to them today, they are awaiting an outcome of the status of a Div 2 club. Said club could be moving divisions. Thats apparently holding up fixtures for the rest of the competition.

I understand Chelsea's appeal has been heard, and the decision by BV to exclude them from Division Two this season was upheld. I would think that means no bye in Division Two this season?
