It seems to be as clear as mud that rules are there for some to exploit and for others to suffer by. So what i can gather is that the criteria stands for didley squat and the Clubs are at the mercy of BV to do whatever they choose. I think I am just beginning to understand.(Maybe) OMR - not sure if its at their mercy in a bad way. I've sat in on 2 presentations that my old club has had to make to BV and they were pretty good about it and pro active in working with the club, but obviously wanting to see that there is clear club direction whether it be junior or senior criteria. if i was to hazard to guess with Chelsea, it may be more than criteria affecting the decision. I know that my old club only just recently made an application to stay in D2 and had to go through the process of where the senior and junior programs are at. Would probably be on a one year probation type of deal.

Surely when they allowed them to enter the D2 comp without meeting criteria they had a plan to work with. 3 year plan, 5 year plan, whatever. To kick them out after 1 season is pathetic.
Having said that, it's done and it's been done for a while. There are no more grounds for appeal so where are the rest of the fixtures? What's taking so long?
It may be time for Wearnie to dust off his other league plans again.

Talking to a few of the Chelsea boys, BV gave them a 3-5 year plan in which they had to show improvement in the junior department. From what I hear they have 4 senior sides, and are making attempts to get a junior program happening. But as Larry suggested that there maybe more to this than meets the eye.

Is it that important to have it up now. You play next week, just a matter of who and where.
I'm sure people would piss and moan if they put it up then changed it after round 1. Let em' get it right the first time.

Actually Larry, at this stage we don't. That's the point, we made plans next week based on the bye.

Like the sound of a East/ West setup. Sounds like a good idea to explore.

Had some prominent Newport people tell me today that they have the entire Division 2 fixture for this season. So why isn't it anywhere to be seen?

That would probably be the fixture with Chelsea still in it. It was sent out weeks ago.

That would probably be the fixture with Chelsea still in it. It was sent out weeks ago. You would have thought that when it was decided to relegate Chelsea they would have worked out a new div 2 and the other div's fixture so that they would be ready if any appeal by Chelsea failed. I think it's outrageous that 1 week before the season starts that only div 1 fixture is available on the website.

Spent a couple of hours down at Murphy Reserve today to see the Mariner boys. The new field is coming along and on point for a mid January completion. Nice big dugouts and a lot more room in foul territory compared to the old field.

Speaking of things you can't find, what happened to Old Man River's (non)appearance at the Umpires Seminar? Must have been a good reason as he previously took umbrage at the suggestion that he would be a no show. Maybe the roses weren't in bloom for him to wear as promised.

If that's the case, as a club member, I'd be demanding the league drop it's affiliation fees! This is starting to stink😖

I thinks he's kidding mate, but it is dragging out that's for sure. As far as we are aware, from a club perspective we have a bye this week and 5 more training sessions to go over stuff. To find out any different 4 days out is just wrong.

Sorry Wyatt, didn't mean to upset you. But a drop in affiliation fees wouldn't gp astray.

My issue is that I have spent a considerable amount of time coordinating with other club administrators to try to organise for as many '4 games at home' scenarios as we can, based on the last fixtures available. We have then locked in our social events based on these dates.
What are the chances of BV allowing clubs the time to again review and request adjustments to the fixtures based on trying to coordinate this again?
Oh, and hopefully they will have fixed the issue that prior to us re-organising game locations as per the above, our 4th's played the majority of home games when our firsts/seconds were at home, leaving our thirds at home as the only game on the alternate week. Makes it so easy to organise umpires/canteen workers when there's only the one home game.... Bugger I wish there was 'sarcasm font' available!!!

And to add to the twist, Chelsea will go back up to avoid a bye. The bye was there with Chelsea in div 2. The bye occurred because Waverley aren't entering a team in div 2.
