It might be the depths of winter in Victoria, but plenty of clubs are working hard at setting themselves up for the new Summer League season.
While we can resurrect the old Rumour Mill in another thread, where are we at FACTUALLY around the league?
Here is a starting point.......
ESSENDON has reappointed Peter Giles as Club Coach, with Richard King his Assistant.
At GEELONG, Nathan Holmes will be in the third (and final year) of his three-year term.
Mick Deeble has taken over as Head Coach at PRESTON.
BLACKBURN has appointed Adam Bright to replace Dom Ruggiero in the leadership role.
Grant Weir will be planning for his second year at the helm with NEWPORT.
FITZROY and WERRIBEE are currently advertising for a Club Coach.
Hayden Dingle will be in his third year at CHELTENHAM.
Who else is locked in around the traps - coach or player-wise?

Drinking your own bathwater mate....whatever floats your boat. Good luck with the season. Ash Winton returns to the rebels as manager, and hopefully this season can continue the clubs drive for a tilt at 1st div. No word on recruits, but a couple of guys have been spoken too, and maybe a few forms will change hands soon.

Wyatt33, you keep banging on about The Rebels. It doesn't matter a diddly squat what Mulgrave seniors do if they can't meet the junior criteria. You've got too many guys that sit on the fence while a handful of guys carry you blokes along. I hear your winter counterparts (Dandenong) have 11 of their 13 sides in the four. Maybe you can suck the lifeblood out of them for kids. Whoop Whoop !!!!!

Yeah, I think well try and ride dandys coat tails, get in their kids ears, let them do all the hard work, amd try and make the most of all their good work! God knows know one at mulgrave wants to do any work! Think you've got a bit of a chip for some reason. Did someone tell you to duck off from mully or something? If so they did the right thing....

It hasn't been posted anywhere else, that there was a junior requirement, and I thought that the Rebels were a shoe in for Div 1.

Wyatt, According to BV by-laws some forms are suppose to change hands before you start talking to the recruits, not after.

Port Melbourne looking to apoint a head coach soon, hopefully within next couple of weeks.
Also may be playing a lot of away games or on an alternative ground as the Murphy Reserve (Kevin & Sandra Longstaff Field) is being moved as part of a Reserve upgrade. Ground moving out toward Plummer Street (home plate bout where ist base cut out is now or thereabouts) to allow for an extra soccer ground in the front next to Willy road.
going by PPC i reckon it would be the entire season althoug they say Xmas.

I hope you'll be able to get the new ground up to the standard of the old one! I remember when Port had one of the best grass infields in the league, with a perfectly flat cut out at home plate seamlessly merging into a perfectly flat infield. Nary a ridge or a stray blade of grass in sight...

Must be some news now that we are in Mid July.
Any news on Port Melb, Moor or even Willy new head coach? I did hear some whispers of a former abl player heading over to the Wolves, any confirmation?
Went past the Port ground yesterday and no longer a baseball ground there. Club working with BV to find an alternative ground/s for this coming summer season.

Good appointment by Williamstown. Dean brings a lot to the table and will be a valuable asset to the club. Just a small point of order in correction of the report on the BV website. Dean had 2 years in pro ball. Finishing his career with Salem in high A ball. Following his stint in Portland with the low A club Dean was voted, by the fans, as the most popular player EVER in the franchise history. Good luck to Deano and the Willy baseball club. One of the true survivors in club sport in Victoria.

Unfortunately Pakky use the little aths rooms and canteen over winter but have no summer access.
No rooms, no canteen = no club.
We will be running Aussie tball again tho.

Fantastic news for WBC. After years of submitting plans and applications to Council for visitors' dugouts, backnets and fencing we are finally successful. At a Council ceremony tonight Monash City Council announced that WBC's latest submission was accepted and we would receive some funds for the project. We will now meet with Council and go through the procedures needed to get the project underway. Go Wildcats!!!

Diesel, I visited the Dandenong ground a couple of weeks ago and I made it my business to have a good look at their new inground dugouts on the main field. They are fantastic and well worth a trip down the road to have a look at for ideas etc. Well done Dandenong - they are a credit to your club and the hard work and persistence of your Committee.

as a former player at wbc for a decade - every year it seemed, the monash council (appeared) to stand in our way due to priorities with other sporting clubs in the municipality = monash pool construction over-runs = building new soccer club pavilions = waverley hockey re-surfacing (2x)? = maintenance issues at various grounds for all sports etc. if any of you have experienced actually costing the price of removal and replacement of 6m high new/ improved mesh fencing, then you will agree that it takes a hell of a lot of hot dog sales to eventually get the necessary funds together... also, there are some design issues that need to be sorted through, as the visitors dugout is currently sitting over a natural open roadway drain and this needs to be addressed with regards flooding... l look forward to the upgrade now as a spectator - Napier Park has for many years needed this final renovation as it is an eyesore to the general public and an embarrasment to our visiting teams, both juniors and senior teams

It's funny, because when we(mulgrave) were at gladeswood reserve, we were told that the council weren't going to do anything else to the ground or rooms, because they were main sponsors of waverley! That's why we ate at booth red and happy! Good luck with your dealings with the great folk at monash city council!
