The focus is back fully on club baseball this week, with especially important games in Division One and Two.
Doncaster/Cheltenham, Essendon/Blackburn and Fitzroy/Waverley could be vital in Divvy One, along with Newport/Bonbeach and Sandringham/St Kilda in Divvy Two.
Tuesday night's match-ups between Melbourne/Geelong, Werribee/Preston, Blackburn/Cheltenham and Malvern/Fitzroy should all be ripper games.

Should be good too, with all Aces are back to club level this week those top level games could go up a further notch with the returning talent

Melbourne blanked Werribee 4-0.
Tough day for hitters, and the Giants did well to hang in there against some quality pitching.
Doncaster vs Cheltenham?

Springvale defeated Footscray 7-3 in Women's Division One.
Big Cats jumped the Dogs at the start and held the lead throughout, though a couple of late double plays snuffed out any Footscray comebacks.
Abbey McLelland a big home run over left field for the home side was the highlight of the game - she will be a dangerous proposition for other states at Nationals this season.
Twos saw Springvale beat Moorabbin 20-1 and the thirds made it three from three with a 13-9 'home' win at Footscray.
Once again, great hospitality down at Footscray - always a great group of people down there.

What a great game of baseball yesterday at Footscray. Two Canadian pitchers going head to head, some great hitting, some good defense.
It's going to be a great finals series in Divvy 1 women's if all teams play their best baseball.

Rebels wrapped up a finals spot, but the thirds got duped a bit, with Chelsea forfeiting their game against us. By looks of the ladder it's cost us a second chance, unless we haven't yet been awarded points on summer league ladder. Is a forfeit a win? I'd assume it would be...wouldn't it?

Wyatt, my guess is BV haven't been advised. On the results page when a team forfeits it usually says next to the team that forfeited "forfeit".

St Kilda 10 Sandringham 0
Quite simply St Kilda pitched hit and fielded better than the home side and thoroughly deserved their victory.
I understand that really opens the door at the bottom of the four. Game on!!

With 4 games remaining for Div 1 firsts Geelong and Essendon have wrapped up a guaranteed spot in the last 4.
Melbourne, Waverley and Blackburn battling for the last 2 spots.
Melb just needs one more win to guarantee their spot. (Still to play Geel twice in last 4 games.
It will to a fight to the end to see which of Waverly and Blackburn manages to claim the last spot.

Should be a cracking finish goblin. Looks like both the teams to qualify for top four, and the order they finish in, may come down to the final weekend. Games between the top five are fairly evenly split too. Should make for a cracking finals series. Hard to tip a winner, at this point any of the top five could take it out.

I understand that really opens the door at the bottom of the four. Game on!! Unfortunately for St Kilda, Thursday's washout against Moorabin looks likely to have ended their season. Even with their thumping win over Sandringham, missing out on the points against Moorabin leaves them trailing 4th placed Sandringham, who are not likely to drop any of their last 3 games. (The only danger game for Sandringham is next weekend's away clash with mid-table Springvale.)

Harman must have gone off, 8 charges. Based on the precident set earlier in the year he looks likely to miss a fair chunk of next season.

In the teams still in the hunt for first div glory, which teams will benefit most from the end of the aces season. Also when are players likely to leave to head overseas to take up their spring training? That will make the last couple of games interesting to watch as well. As for second div, great couple of weeks coming up, but if it is true about st kilda missing because of a wash out, surely that is cause enough for the league to have a rethink on the 'no replay' rule. Also makes it hard for some of us to work out who is actually going better due to match ratio....don't always have my abacus handy.

Good thing for Harmo is that with the amount of charges he's up for ,surely there's no room for somebody to mysteriously add a few. Then again?

From what i have heard Tjack, there was a rough but legal play at home plate that Brad took exception too. The ensuing discussions that held up play for 10 minutes or so came prior to ejections, that is rule applied...rule questioned...ruling was held. Right or wrong ? Sounds like ego.

Perfect, are you saying that Harmans ego got him thrown out of the game??? From all reports there was no play at the plate and the runner had no right to take out the catcher and to add to it story goes that the catcher was not even standing on the plate. My guess is that he was looking out for his catcher. You don't like to hear of a guy possibly getting hurt on a play that should never have happened. How would you like it if one of your guys got steam rolled for no reason I'm sure you would like an answer as to why or even how it could happen and for no one to be held accountable for it. It's people like Harman that put bums on seats at club games and even ABL games and you think that his ego got him into trouble, sounds like he was just looking out for his teammates. Maybe you had better get your story straight before you go throwing comments about like that.

I was not there so I won't comment on the incident, but what I will say is if ever there was a player who deserved to have an ego within Victorian Baseball then it is Brad Harman (he played in the big league's. Never forget what an accomplishment that is). However he is one of the most humble players I have ever come come across. He is a no nonsense leader on the field who lets his game do the talking for him. Sounds like ego? Sounds like you have never watched him play!
