Well sort of impartial, I don't have any kids to follow if that makes me impartial but the BAYCATS are on THE BOARD, great effort from Dean Barker, complete game and missed the shutout by a bloop to centrefield, the kids were also sensational.

Oops. Started this thread and then messed with my message, which was inviting senior leagues/players or supporters to post scores and/or comments on games they might have played in or seen on any given day this season....
Great start for the Baycats.

Well this is no prediction by any means and I wasn't quite sure where to put this post but - THE BAYCATS are ON THE BOARD with a great 9-1 win over last years grand finalist in Malvern. I picked against them which I now must do every week and Dean Barker threw a complete game and only just missed the shut out on a bloop to centre field, great effort and he looked as filthy as he use to be.

Goodaye Guys,
To keep a bit of order and to save multiple posts in multiple treads, I ask all to use this header format to make comment for each weeks games.
ie; Nexts weekend the header should be
Week 2: 12/10: -Who won, how or why?
etc, etc

Goodaye GreatWhiteHope,
Yep, correct. I was just moving yours and oldracers into this tread so we can keep everything focused to this thread now that it has been created.
It was the only way I could move them without loosing them.
Hopefully things will run smoothly from here on in. Its all a learning curve.
I must admit a 9-1 win by the Baycats over the Braves at Malvern has certainly surprised quite a few.

But I want to read about Geelong winning in 3 or 4 different threads.... Loosen up knob head, take it for what it is, a bit of fun, or maybe I'll send you a very sincere PM and we can move on.

Oldracer......
Even with Barker shinning on the hill their must have been some hot bats for the Baycats with a score like 9-1.
Who else stood out in such a commanding win ?
Was Biddle back to his normal slot and stealing those bases as per 2006-7 ?

got there at the end of the 5th Goblin but I understand that Ross Wilson, he of the understated but very talented variety had 3, no relation but Steve Wilson had a couple, Biddle was on when I got there and quickly proceeded to second by way of a steal, Lee Poulter and Nathan Holmes put some serious wood on ball and the middle infield, combined age of 35, were sensational.

Bombers 10 Newport 0 (8 innings)
The import started for Newport and he can pitch.
0-0 into the 5th, essendon had left 11 on base at this stage.
Yank got pulled in 5th and then the runs piled on.
Casey Jones and Ross Hipke didnt allow a runner past 2nd and scattered only a handful of hits.

Bonbeach 6 Doncaster 4
Doncaster - Ugly Bonbeach - Less ugly
Not good baseball, both teams will need to improve if they are to make anything of the season.
Rutgers - Awesome!! O'Reilly - Very good on the hill

johne,
Jake threw 3 or 4. Sarted the game and did very well. Even with the Bonbeach drunks in his ear.
Did not hit, but the way Donny hit, maybe he should have.

Sandringham 3 Sunshine 1.
Sunshine's import can flat out throw, all the reports are right. Walked a few too many though.
Throwed hard, 2 fastballs, good curve and change. Going to be dangerous when him and Wiltshire are in tandem week in week out.
Offence may be a problem though.
Defence outstanding from both sides. Sandy pitchers not one walk in 11 innings.

For those interested, I headed up to sunny Upwey to watch the Divvy 2 boys play their game. While I was slightly distracted chasing my little fella around the field (insert appropriate joke here), I can contribute a little report.
The Werribee boys' could not have looked more impressive during warm-up, with nary a bobble or errant throw in the field. Earl 'the pearl' had obviously been drilling them well, and in contrast to their reserve grade team, the boys were all of reasonable size. Curiosuly for a team amanged by one of the better pitchers in Victoria, the Werribee starting pitcher threw a full warm-up on the sideline for almost 25 minutes! AFTER one spectator commented on the length of his warm-up, he then threw another further guesstimated 100 pitches. The result was that he looked a little tired on the mound early, with some control issues leading to early base-runners, which were eagerly knocked in by UFTG clean-up hitter Oxy.
By contrast, UFTG starter Sean 'Molly' Meldrum looked very sharp early as he consistently hit the ctacher's mitt, and induced groundball after groundball for his infielders.
My concentration faded somewhat after the start, but thge end score of 11-0 suggests the game continued in the same vein.
