I have realized over time that I don't care if people use a real or fake "tag". What I do care about is that topic's like this one are able to get out and be discussed when prior to the forum's existance, would anyone know about this issue? I think not! What I will not do is make comment about something I know nothing about considering the delicate nature of the subject, commenting about it by "something that was overheard" is fraut with danger! I have heard all sorts of rumour and inuendo but until I read an official statement from "authorities" about this subject (which I don't believe will ever happen) I will forever have a knot in my gut and this subject will continue to simmer. metsace1986, I would have thought you could just re-registar useing your real name and say I was "metsace1986" in your next post?

Sandon, we can only hope that you have contacted police with the information that you have. Should you be one of the people affected by Jarrett’s activities, then may justice eventually be served as he and his supporters are held accountable. Talking of Jarrett supporters, you have to wonder about “Steve Aussie Baseball Guru”, an identity that pops up from time to time on the discredited (sorry, never-credited) Australian Baseball Digest pontificating about all manner of baseball matters while his ABD parasites off the work of others. Wouldn't surprise me (though just a thought) if Guru Steve is the same person, or at least an associate, of the “steveg” and “metsace1986” characters (one and the same, it looks like) who caused grief with stupid, defamatory comments on this Forum some weeks ago. Guru Steve is one of the few people who comment from time to time on their ABD soapbox. Just today, he/she (or it) made this remark about the well-deserved appointment of Simone Wearne to Head Coach of the Australian women’s team: “This is long overdue and a step in the right direction. The number of male coaches who have had relationships with female players, on the national women’s team, has been a concerning trend. At last there will be less sleaze.”thebaseballdigest.wordpress.com/2013/03/28/baseball-australia-appoint-first-female-manager-of-national-team/#commentsBig call, Guru Steve, steveg, metsace1986 or whoever the hell you are today! What? Our national women's team has been about "sleaze"? While the comment (silly as it may well prove to be) in no way reflects upon Simone – an ABF Hall of Famer who will do a great job in the role – it does cast serious and concerning imputations of impropriety on the part of former coaches. If the imputations are to any degree true, then all that reflects very poorly on the coaches and on the Australian Baseball Federation as the governing body. It casts a shadow over selection processes, it raises questions over the motivation of coaches (or other staff) and over the professionalism of people entrusted to coaching positions. Further, while most baseball people in this country might be alerted to concerns about editorship of Australian Baseball Digest, the site is posted online and is potentially seen by a world-wide audience that does not necessarily follow this Forum. These imputations can cast Australian baseball in a very poor light, internationally and at home. We know that the ABF has been reluctant to take on the Digest (and at least to demand names that it can place to editorship). It has so far refused to make a public statement on paedophilia in the sport (even though a former President and defrocked Life Member of the ABF has been incarcerated and is likely to be sentenced on other matters). On this occasion, Guru Steve is making allegations that strike at the very heart of the credibility of our national women’s team, its management and its administration. Yes, Guru Steve should either put up or shut up in this instance (and I’m guessing he/they/it will continue to hide behind the veil of anonymity). But surely, this time, the ABF will be prompted to take some sort of action over these imputations (which are made, after all, by someone who has a clear connection and a certain empathy with Digest editorship). Let’s remember, too, that this Australian Baseball Digest is the same tainted and shifty vehicle that defamed one of our former Major Leaguers just a few months ago. It was only when the player chose to personally confront known associates of ABD that a pissweak online retraction was forthcoming. There is a pattern of ABD and its sympathisers getting away with garbage here. Because they provide a service that in itself is valuable, they seem to believe they are untouchable - despite a proven link with at least one convicted and listed child sex offender. Are you not concerned, ABF staff? You bloody well should be.If these inferences are justified, then we have a problem. If they have no proven factual basis, then you surely need to act.

Interesting, is it not, that Australian Baseball Digest has now taken to plagiarising messages from this very Forum - again without acknowledging the source (which in this case is probably understandable!)? It looks like an online watchdog is thankfully giving the faceless and shameless ones some grief. twitter.com/ABDSource

Some things change, and some things stay the same.
Haven't been here for a while. The Forum has a different feel, though I note that there is no update - here or anywhere else - about Trevor Lindsay Jarrett and any stated public position of Australian Baseball Federation on paedophilia in sport (or anywhere else). Maybe the ABF is waiting on the Royal Commission's findings (in maybe ten years) to take a stand!
This is a reprehensible abrogation of ABF responsibility to keep this issue front and centre until the sport can declare itself absolutely clean of paedophiles and other weirdoes seeking to prey on our kids.
I notice, too, that Australian Baseball Digest has lately been able to engage in some rare online discussion (with unsuspecting persons) via its blog, even though most of the baseball world surely understands by now that we are dealing with some pretty shady characters.
It is the prerogative of anyone to decide whether or not to form a connection with registered ABD manager Trevor Jarrett and his group of kindred spirits. To the few persons who might be supporting and encouraging them with dialogue, maybe it would be an idea to read this thread from the start.

As a minor sport, Australian baseball has been crying out for mainstream media and website coverage for many years. With the successes of our national teams, with the personal achievements of our young players overseas and now with a revamped national league, reporting and coverage have become an even more urgent priority. Over the past two years, a number of individuals and organisations have sought to become engaged in baseball reporting, blogs and news services. With varying degrees of success. Some have fallen by the wayside, others are seasonal and others seem to believe the commentary is all about them. Of the existing services, Australian Baseball Digest has developed an impressive presence on the web for its regular, concise and comprehensive reporting – especially on the progress of our young baseball professionals. The site has rollicked along at a frenetic pace, seemingly being updated several times a day and drawing more and more people as Facebook “friends”. “This is the greatest site, ever,” remarked one such “friend”, clearly in awe of the contribution made by ABD to the propagation of Australian baseball. Anecdotally, the Digest editor has been reluctant to disclose his identity and he has chosen to remain anonymous despite requests from various individuals and organisations. But why such an insistence on remaining anonymous and on refusing to accept public kudos for developing and maintaining the Australian Baseball Digest? What does the editor have to hide? Why does he not “out” himself? Why does he not accept the plaudits and get on with his valuable work? Simply, it seems, because he cannot.
Because of who he is.While the person has not yet owned up, the serious mail is that Trevor Jarrett – someone known for all the wrong reasons - is the person behind Australian Baseball Digest.Notwithstanding his former history, Jarrett seems to have made a successful foray back into Australian mainstream baseball should this assertion not be refuted. His "service" is universally appreciated and he appears to have been welcomed back with open arms into the bosom of the baseball community. So much so that the associated Facebook pages – under the guise of Australian Baseball Digest – have attracted over 3500 “friends”. Friends of all ages. Ardent followers and clearly committed supporters of the Australian Baseball Digest. While there may legally be nothing stopping Trevor Jarrett – or anyone else – from managing a website that reports on the progress of adult baseball players in their various competitions, the creation of an interactive Facebook page linked to that reporting is questionable, at best. And nefarious at worst. It’s an unfortunate metaphor, but Australian baseball governing bodies again appear to have been caught “with their pants down” by a bloke who has consistently and for a long time abused his involvement in the sport to pursue his own warped agenda. Surely this latest revelation will teach us something. Privacy and personal freedom are values that we rightly hold dear. However, someone – at some point – has surely to accept institutional or personal responsibility for material and for services that are provided on the internet. The greater good should always take precedence over the desire to remain anonymous. The nature of the reporting service provided by Australian Baseball Digest is valuable and very useful in its own right. Perhaps we should be entrusting delivery of that service only to persons or organisations who have the best interests of baseball – and more particularly of our young sportspeople – at heart. If (and that is a big if) the ABD wish to protect their anonymity for totally innocent reasons then let their anonymity condemn them. I for one shall always associate their website and internet presence with Trevor Jarrett, a convicted pedophile facing further charges in Australia. So unless it is proven to me otherwise I shall continue to shun ABD and advise anyone I come into contact to do the same. Note to the ABD...if you think what I do constitutes slander or any other contravention of common law then I welcome your contact to set me on the straight and narrow and would welcome the chance to apologise in person.

Since Jarrett went back to court on Monday 17 June to face criminal charges, someone visiting this Forum will surely know the outcome (unless it is another instance of details being suppressed by a legal system that cares more about the non-existent "rights" of perpetrators). I'm sure that "steve the aussie baseball guru" and his cronies at ABD will know the outcome, although they probably won't want to share. And I don't know about other Forum members, but I would be pretty pissed if I was being quoted on the Digest (like at least one member was at length just recently, talking about the MLB opener in Sydney). Jarrett's mates taking that liberty implies a certain association with the Digest (or at least a tacit support of its activities). True to form for them, though. Parasites.

Anyone know the outcomes? Just had a look at the following searchcourtlists.lawlink.nsw.gov.au/scm/searchIt shows that his actual "Criminal" trial started on the 19th of June which was last Wednesday. As it is still listed I take it that it is still going. If you click on the above link and just type in Jarrett it shows him as number one on the list of cases.

Good find. Now let us hope that Judge North helps send the **** south! It appears that is not going to happen, for the time being at least. I have been informed on reliable authority that the hearing last week resulted in a "no bill", with the prosecution dropping its action against Jarrett because of a lack of adequate evidence to secure a conviction in this particular case.

The fact that Trevor Jarrett has walked away from a court of law with a result of "no bill" should be respected by all law abiding people. If we don't hold true to the council of law and democracy then what is left to us ? Yes.....he has history (criminal record) and yes, he has left court exonerated of this most recent charge and I for one will keep a weather eye on this man's movements within our baseball community. And that's all we can do. Having experienced inappropriate advances in my youth I feel some what qualified to comment. .....................Wow. I know this is a heavy subject but I know I'm not alone.

While people on this Forum clearly - and properly - have no time for Australian Baseball Digest, most of us check in at the site from time to time to see what is going on (not so much with the baseball news, which is readily accessible elsewhere, but more so to assess what the shifty ones are up to).
Perhaps other people have noted how emboldened the unnamed and unknown editor has become in recent times? How he has taken to making smart-a***d, know-it-all and condescending comments on the Twitter feed at a time when more than the usual number of misguided or naive souls have chosen to engage in online dialogue. Have you noticed how he seems more relaxed and expresses greater familiarity about our younger players? How he is clearly seeking to engender greater trust among those players?
The timing of this new enthusiasm, self-confidence and unfettered arrogance by the parasitic ABD is interesting. Just a couple of weeks, is it not, since Trevor Lindsay Jarrett again weaseled his way out of the lengthy jail term that will inexorably come his way as he and his weirdo supporters are exposed (in a manner of speaking) for what they are.
While we may resist the urge to comment on the Digest website (it would not be published anyhow) or we may refuse to join in the Twitter conversation, it is perfectly reasonable for any person to refer others to this Forum thread in an effort to enlighten them about who and what they are dealing with to prevent them becoming seduced by a smarmy ABD editorship that continues to wilfully make fools of the baseball community given its clear links to at least one convicted and listed paedophile.
The fundamental questions remain.
Why does the ABD editor refuse to identify himself (even after some years, according to this thread)? What does he or they have to hide? What involvement does Trevor Jarrett have with the Digest? Why have the ABF and the state governing bodies not taken measures to allay the reasonable concerns of people in the baseball community?

I have recently received a private personal message from a fellow poster (vacant) in response to one of an earlier post of mine in which he gave me his name and his bona fides. I tried to check his background with the online contacts that he supplied and found no evidence of his name associated with his claims. So, he has identified himself as the person directly involved with editorial propriety of the ABD. I have pointed out to him that total journalistic integrity and disclosure can only increase the value and subscription rate of his website. I still refuse to even look at it for any reason.

Iva Adjuon, Steven Ozello-Brasanski, Marcus DuQuesne.
Now what do these names have in common, aside from being unusual?
Well, they are all names of supposed real persons having a connection with Australian Baseball Digest. Do an online search for any of them and you will come up empty except for a basically inactive Adjuon Facebook.
While Iva Adjuon might have been caught with his pants down (chances are he would enjoy that), the other personas are equally pathetic in their inventiveness and equally non-existent as human beings.
None of us has any interest in directing traffic to Australian Baseball Digest and its bizarre proprietors. However, some people at least would have spotted the recent ABD attack on Australian Head Coach Jon Deeble and the responses that it drew.
Of course any and all coaching positions should be under review when any team or club is not experiencing the success that we would like. But really, ABD sickos reading this Forum, you have zilch credibility in any debate, such as that in which you chose to engage with a baseball parent having the courage to identify herself in taking a stand against nameless, faceless nasties venting their bitterness.
Steven Ozello-Brasanski has revealed himself as the Steve Aussie Baseball Guru mentioned elsewhere in these dispatches. He or she or it is still yet to be held accountable for defamatory remarks made about the women’s national team coaching staff.
Marcus DuQuesne? Well, it may be a half-clever name play, but that is about all.
These people appear simply not to exist. They are figments, most likely, of the fertile imaginations of lost souls who are unable to reveal their real identity on this dodgy Australian Baseball Digest, or anywhere else for that matter.
What a pathetic way to live.
They play games and they may seek to make fools of people in the Australian baseball community. To a degree they may have succeeded, thus far (largely through the ineptitude and the weakness of governing bodies). Well, congratulations...
For those unknowing or negligent persons who maintain that Australian Baseball Digest has a role to play in the promotion of Aussie baseball and the decency that our sport overwhelmingly promotes, please have second thoughts before you do anything that might serve to in any way legitimise these shady ABD people and their plagiarised service.
I’ll sum up with the words of a respected Australian baseball person who posted this message prior (I suspect) to ABD sickos having the chance to hit the delete button:
Who the hell is Steve Ozello-Brasanski and what the hell has he done in his life, have you played under Jon Deeble? Have you ever played or been coached by any decent coach? If these answers are NO then move on from your little crusade. Peter Hartas
Well said, Peter.

Are others getting the sense that Australian Baseball Dodginess is thankfully in the process of imploding?
Still, we need to test this.
I've been reliably informed of posts that have been submitted to ABD on the Jon Deeble discussion but have not been published.
That is to say, they appear to have been censored.
Feel free to message Australian Baseball Digest. Ask questions, make your views known, seek out personal contact details.
Such scrutiny is long overdue.
See how you go.

It is not this Forum that is the issue, larry42.
It is the likes of these faceless and nameless Australian Baseball Digest people who are making the big calls and who – through their own vindictiveness and nasty motives – are seeking to cast defamatory aspersions on legitimate and respected baseball persons who (unlike Trevor Lindsay Jarrett) have not been discredited or punished under Australian law.
My money would be on Ozello-Brasanski, Iva Adjuon and Duquesne being other creations of ABD management that has most likely also produced “SteveG” and “metsaceace1986” in online communications on this and other Forums.
Like all of us, I’ve better things to do with my time, but also ran some unproductive online searches out of interest.
You’d think, would you not, that if people are engaged in seeking to speak authoritatively in online forums (on any subject, but in this case baseball) that they would show up somewhere, such as on Facebook or on Twitter or as having some affiliation with baseball organisations?
People for their various reasons choose to remain anonymous on forums cuch as this. But where they go out of their way to create multiple identities and pretend that they are being up-front (like this brazen Brasanski), then their motives and credibility come seriously into question.
Some time when you have the chance, go back and check out the posts made on this Forum by “SteveG” and “metsace1986”. Too much inside knowledge, I would have thought – and certainly too much understanding of what Jarrett has been up to.
In those discussions a few months ago, “SteveG” apologised to a well-known and respected baseball person for untruthful and potentially very damaging remarks that he made. He undertook to meet with the person and issue a personal apology. To my knowledge that never happened. Why? Because “SteveG”, as always, was talking crap.
Playing games.
People involved with the Digest are known to check this Forum out on a regular basis. They have for a long time been invited to disclose their identity. OK, so listed child sex offender Trevor Lindsay Jarrett is not going to be upfront about that (even given the clear proof earlier in this thread that he is directly involved).
I don’t know if it has been mentioned already, but I have heard on what I regard as reliable authority that some geezer called Johnson or Johnston (in Sydney) has convinced the Australian Baseball Federation that he is the editor of the Digest.
Does anyone have any further information on that?
Who is this Johnston? Does he exist, or is this another fictitious name?
If he does exist, he must be some sort of bright bloke, with plenty of time at his disposal and a comprehensive understanding of college and professional baseball structures.
And larry42, you are entitled to be pissed off with the slanderous comments made by Steve Baseball Guru (and referred to in this thread). But let us lay the blame where it belongs – with this infernally annoying and seemingly unaccountable Baseball Digest.
If you want to go after anyone, go after them. Get them into the courts. Even though Forum moderators have a commitment to respect anonymous posters and contact details, they would surely be required to disclose relevant ISPs, email addresses and other information if legal action was instigated.
And go after the Australian Baseball Federation. That might force ABF officials and staff to extract their heads from the sand.
This business with Australian Baseball Digest is a time bomb. While nothing illegal may appear to be taking place (just yet, anyhow), clear links have been established with a convicted, listed child sex offender and his supporters. The potential is there to do enormous damage to Australian baseball, not to mention the immeasurable human misery that has already been wrought on children at the hands deviants like Jarrett and his ilk.

Welcome to new member "steveozbaseballguru".
If this is indeed the same Guru from elsewhere, perhaps he or she would like to update our records with a functional email address, rather than one with part of the hyphenated name mis-spelt as "Baranski" rather than the "Brasanski" that appeared in Australian Baseball Digest discussions.
Shoot, we all make mistakes, especially in spelling our names....

What's wrong with taking the mickey? Those imbeciles like many (or 'one and the same') that have come on here and played games with identity etc should know that that is in fact all part of the persona of a person or persons that are alleged to have behaved in ways alleged herein, AND that it is they that in fact are being played with !

Oh spare us, "steveozbaseballguru", "kcsunshine", "kcsundown", "duquesne" and all of the other smart-assed names that you like to concoct.
While our initial response might be to whack a ban on dodgy members, it is a more tempting proposition - in this instance - to allow you to dig an even bigger hole than that which already beckons.
Your puerile attempt to trivialise the troubling subject matter of this thread tells all of us plenty.

10 pages herein of Trevor Jarrett information to do with alleged paedophilia, contributed to in part probably by him and his supporters.
That tells me a lot. Perhaps someone could list herein the FACTS to do with this man so when it gets Googled by others (as it does) they can be up to speed as to what this 'man' has been up too ?

We can't allow this forum to be defined by this thread. Information that helps keep our community safe, is of course paramount and helps to make us all feel involved and aware. That is what forums are about in the digital age. A sense of community and all that that entails. Tit for tat might be OK for some threads, not this particular one though and it is certainly not the thread for obtuse or witty observations, let alone sh*t for sh*ts sake.

I think when someone who proports to be part of the baseball community and who is supposedly part of a so-called baseball info site like the 'Digest' who sees fit to carry on in the childish, manipulative, pathetic way in which this bloke has these past 2 days then it is indeed a matter for this Forum to take issue with.
