The identity of the complainant in this case will be suppressed, as it should be. Sounds like he has been through enough already. His courageous decision to go to the police will hopefully encourage other abused persons to do likewise – even if the abuse took place many years ago.
Late in 2010, a new member to this Forum posted two messages about Trevor Jarrett. The member was not a baseball person, he said, but had happened upon the Forum discussion.
The first message made specific, detailed and explosive allegations against Jarrett in his (Jarrett’s) capacity as a schoolteacher during the late seventies and early eighties.
The post was edited by a fellow moderator who was rightly concerned that those of us maintaining the Forum – along with the new member - could be shut down or even subject to legal action since the allegations were unproven.
The member posted a second message, the next day, taking Forum administration for task for editing the original message, although he appeared to understand why the specific allegations had been removed. Nevertheless, the person was clearly agitated about the editing of the first message, suggesting to me that he was definitely genuine.
He has not posted on this Forum since.
I do not know the identity of the person, other than his Forum sobriquet and an email address. I have emailed him and have urged him to contact police regarding his serious allegations. I have not heard back from him and I do not know if he has taken that – or any other - course of action.
He may be the person who has brought the current charges against Jarrett, though I doubt it. Indications are that he is considerably older.
If you are reading this, investigator, perhaps the recent development might sway you to also seek justice and reparation for the wrongs that you allege were committed by the person who you mentioned. The news reporting suggests that police have a strong sense that yesterday’s arrest may be the tip of the iceberg. I have no doubt that you would be treated with due care and sensitivity should you decide to come forward.
To pick up on a point that perfeckt made. The overwhelming majority of those involved in Australian baseball are good and decent people who would abhor any effort to abuse and exploit young people in our care. Accordingly, we should not be jumping at shadows and we are all well-advised to see the good in people wherever possible.
However, we need to remain vigilant for instances of aberrant and criminal behaviour masquerading as something else, an art form that this Jarrett person seems to have worked at over a long time.
A couple of final points.
While Trevor Jarrett has been charged with serious criminal offences, they have not yet been proven, as they need to be. His form suggests that he is in strife, but it will be a court of law that decides his guilt or otherwise in this case – not an online Forum.
Nevertheless, we can judge him, as a human being, on his track record.
He has proven, as cubs says, that he is a ****.
By extension, those who have continued to support him are *****
The law will take its course on these current charges, and any other charges that may be brought to bear. There remains the related issue of Australian Baseball Digest, its Facebook, its Twitter and Iva Adjuon.
On the overwhelming weight of evidence, Trevor Jarrett is directly involved in all.
Even after Jarrett’s arrest yesterday, Australian Baseball Digest carried on as though nothing has happened (except probably for a few hours, when Jarrett was being processed). It is almost like these people are in denial.
Everyone in Australian baseball knows about Jarrett’s arrest yesterday. If he is not directly involved, wouldn’t you think that Digest staff would be jumping up and down and going to all possible lengths to distance themselves from the rock spider, who surely this time – if convicted – will be locked away for a long time?
Nup, business as usual by Jarrett and his mates.
Extraordinary. They must be in a different dimension.
And cubs, I think I’m getting used to your terminology to describe Jarrett and his mates......
Sick *****

It's encouraging to see that even the passing of time will not allow this bloke to continue to get away with what he is alleged to have done (or has tried to get away with), some of which has been documented by Forum members.
However, a couple of things I remain concerned about.
How come the Australian Baseball Federation or the state authorities are saying nothing? Don't they care about something that has potential to bite all of them on the backside?
Could we be wrong? Australian Baseball Digest just seems to keep going about what it does, without a care in the world. The evidence seems to be there that Jarrett is involved and that he is not working alone. But how come no-one - no innocent party, even - is saying anything?
How come the links to ABL Buzz, Flintoff and Dunn, MLB Blogger, ABF, ABL etc are still on the Digest website? Do they know something we don't know? Don't they care?
If this Jarrett character is definitely involved (as he appears to be), just what support does he have? And how high up does that support go?
No-one (except on this Forum) seems to want to be up-front, to say who they are, what they are up to and where they stand in relation to the whole issue.
Just what are we dealing with here?

I can't speak for the ABF, and the other points you've made, but as far as the links to other sites appearing on the website are concerned - the owners of the other websites have no choice within that. The links that are on the aussie baseball digest are setup by the owner of the ABD website, and other people can't stop them from putting them up. It certainly doesn't indicated that ABL Buzz (for instance) have gone to ABD and requested they be put up there. Just looking around on the site a bit, I find it interesting to note that this site is an MLBlog official affiliate. I wonder if anybody has reported the possible d**ning link for the assumed owner of the website directly to the MLB Blogs section - that might make it untennible for them to have the MLBlog affiliate program involved with the website, and might help get it taken down. Having said that, surely this website is a great concept (apart from the owner), and something needs to stand up to take its place?

stockley, you are right in saying that the ABD website can link to whoever it wishes. I'm not suggesting for one moment that any of the people or organisations linked have a conscious connection with the Digest. They (including MLBBlogs) may not even know that they are indirectly giving credibility to a website associated with (and probably managed by) a convicted, listed child sex offender.
The point is, if they do know (or if someone tells them), then they can ask (or demand) that any links associating them with the website should be removed.
I agree that the website meets a need in the baseball community. If the ABF and the state associations had provided the service that they should have, then this bloke and his mates would be irrelevant. But it is not too late, if the governing bodies have the balls to deal with this matter and show some leadership, for chrissakes.
Why should the good members of this Forum have to devote their valuable time to monitoring this Jarrett creep and his supporters, when we pay baseball administrators to look out for the sport in this country?

The news report mentioned that Jarrett has been granted conditional bail and is slated to appear in court on Tuesday 12 June to answer the allegations.
Perhaps our Forum friends in NSW can keep us informed of any relevant media coverage as it occurs.
I wonder if he will take his Australian Baseball Digest associates along as character witnesses?

Our support should be for the "alleged victims" and that support doesn't need to be expressed by displays of vengence. Good luck to most party's involved, I hope that justice is done.

yes perfeckt, our primary concern should always be for the victims of any proven crime.
Nevertheless, child abuse rightly evokes strong emotions and a desire to punish guilty persons to the full letter of the law. If that punishment goes further - in this case through the sort of vigilantism that authentic is implying - then I reckon most people would not have too much sympathy.
Crimes against the vulnerable - particularly children - are inhumane and are at the most base level of aberrant human behaviour.
Vengeance? Justice? Whatever happens, it is of the perpetrator's own making.

Well said player.
Perfeckt feel free to have your opinion in whatever form you want but dont tell me how I should or shouldnt express mine !
Ive been close enought to the issue of child abuse thru the years in my role in another place at another time, and I have followed the manipulation that this moron has seemingly relished in as Iva Adjuon etc over the past years herein and elsewhere, which is of couse just another form of the same manipulation and self-gratifying bull$hit used by this $%^& towards our communities most vulnerable over decades (allegedly).
Child abusers (allegedly) like him can rot in hell if/when guilty I say !

I guess we'll hear the latest in due course, gj.
Jarrett was required to attend Downing Court on Tuesday for "mention" in regard to criminal charges brought by NSW police. In view of the seriousness of those charges (and in view of his record), I'd expect that he would have been sent to trial - possibly in a higher court - at a date to be set.
Over the past couple of weeks, Australian Baseball Digest has been making factual mistakes, posting the wrong photographs and taking on a somewhat different style to previously. Maybe this means that other of the Jarrett supporters are taking more of a role, I don't know. Maybe they are all getting rattled by the arrest and the continuing disquiet about what these digest people are up to.
What we know for sure is that the ABD service has filled a vacuum in Australian baseball. That should never have happened. It is still not too late for the Australian Baseball Association (preferably, as the national body), or some other organisation or even reputable individuals to set itself/themselves up in competition to this sicko and his group of sympathisers.
Who wants to take it on?
Maybe we have enough committed baseball people on this Forum alone who could get together and share the workload in setting up a blog or some such online service.

Still no news on Trevor Lindsay Jarrett’s status. Maybe he has already been locked up (again). Maybe he has been referred to a higher court. Whatever the case, it clear that his role with Australian Baseball Digest is diminished, although his email address and mobile number remain as contacts for ABD. What we do know is that the world – and decent legal systems – are becoming increasingly less tolerant of predatory slimebags who seek to exploit and abuse our young people. Just this week, Penn State football coach Jerry Sandusky was jailed – effectively for the rest of his life – after being convicted of the activities and crimes at least some of which Jarrett has been accused. www.foxnews.com/us/2012/06/22/sandusky-jury-has-reached-verdict/Unsolicited massages of young men, grooming, groping, rape, deviant sexual acts. Systematic and long-standing abuse that has finally been proven after people of courage decided to come forward and make Sandusky legally accountable. When decent people say nothing, such crimes will continue to be committed and continue to go unpunished. Trevor Jarrett still has his supporters. In not distancing themselves from a convicted and listed child sex offender, they are tacitly providing approval for his actions – and those of like-minded sickos. Isn’t it well beyond time for the Australian Baseball Federation to act on this matter and force the hand of these faceless, nameless other persons involved with Australian Baseball Digest? Isn’t it well beyond time for those persons who are involved with the Digest to identify themselves and explain why they have willingly allowed themselves to be directly linked with Jarrett? There are names being bandied around about other persons who might be involved with the Digest. In saying nothing - in view of the Jarrett arrest - they seem to be saying plenty. And none of it good. Finally, for those persons who claim to have known about Jarrett’s inclinations and his activities for years and have never said anything publicly. Isn’t it about time that you people showed some principle and came forward with details of what you know and what you claim to have observed? No more of this nudge nudge wink wink nonsense. Show some courage. Think of your own children and how you would want – and not want – them to be treated. Yes, the Digest provides a valuable and important service. So what? There are some things that are more important.

It's been quiet on the ABD/Trevor Jarrett front of late. Do we know what has happened to the rock spider regarding the more recent allegations?
Australian Baseball Digest has taken on a quite different nature of late, with far less frequent updates and a certain change in style being evident. It would appear that Jarrett no longer has an upfront role, though that is just conjecture.
If other, more reputable persons have taken over editorship of the Digest, why don't they come out and make a statement? Why not identify themselves after all this time? Why does the the Australian Baseball Federation continue to remain silent on this matter?
While the uptake of persons "liking" the Digest and posting comments is minimal, the fact is that it is still recruiting some support. The only person who seems to comment from time to time is some wannabe Aussie baseball writer expressing his admiration for the Digest. Does he comment out of ignorance, or does he have some connection with ABD's shady editorship?
We may never know. Ah, yes we will.

Ive heard nothing 'player' but I like the fact that if one Googles 'Trevor Jarrett' up pops the 'Jarrett' Forum thread right on top of the list and all of our discussions/info about him and his 'dirty deeds' that is then also linked to this 'Something to Digest' thread in here as well :-)

The Aussie baseball writer also seems to have aspirations of being a private investigator / investigative journalist. IMO he, Nicholas Henning, appears to support Jarrett. During a telephone conversation he told me knew the identity of the ABD "Editor" - but that he is sworn to secrecy. Henning said "It's a misunderstanding" (about Jarrett's conviction for possessing child pornography). He also indicated to me that he has copious amounts of research on Jarrett. I wonder why he doesn't notify the authorities of this? Dear Nicholas, as this post dates back to August 2012 I doubt anyone will read this edit except you. I trust I have removed the allegedly offensive and disappointing parts, and I wish you well - despite your misguided email rant today. God Bless.

Trevor Lindsay Jarrett again appeared before the Downing Centre Court on 28 August for another "mention" in regard to criminal charges brought against him.
While someone might be able to furnish further information, it seems that legal processes are in train for him to eventually be made to pay for his behaviour.
In the meantime, the Iva Adjuon Facebook page has gone decidedly quiet (hopefully because its creator - Jarrett - has been locked away or is at least otherwise occupied in preparing a defence for the indefensible).
And Australian Baseball Digest? Well, some people still seem to believe that it is OK to "like" a service instigated by a child sex offender and his supporters. Yes, the plagiarised Digest material on our young players is interesting and invaluable in itself, but the fact remains that it can be easily accessed from its original source without anyone giving Jarrett and his weirdo mates any oxygen.
