E1 Grade eh - so if this is the lowest grade in your club then you can bring up three players from your...er...lower grade to play finals! Oops, can't do that if this is the lowest grade team. So the other choice not listed there TLS is that the Watsonia E1 Grade who finished top, wins first final then because of this decision you get to play six or seven people only as no more qualified in this division.
Yes, lucky Watsonia has an E2 grade team so some guys may get some game time in finals - are you allowed to switch between E1 and E2?

So which game to watch tommorow? Knox vs a pretty tough Westgarth team and hopefully see Knox take their place in a well deserved Grand final? Or Heathmont Greensborough in a game that I think could go either way Heatmont have with no doubt the best hitting lineup from 1-9 but Greensborough are a terrific team so two great games tommorow good luck to everyone and let's hope the rain stays away

finals rules need to be clarified much earlier. Watsonia E1's (already in the grand final) have been shafted by the decision to push the grand final a week back, they will have 3 players out including their only 2 pitches, because of holidays already booked, (just like Frant). with the 24th being the middle week of school holidays and the only week between the winter and summer season i wonder how many others have holidays espically in lower grades where people have familys and only play socially? i expect this decision would have hurt other teams had they been in this situation. now players in the E1's are faced with the choice: play and possibally win a grandfinal but lose a few hundered $ and disappoint their kids who will miss out on a holiday, or let your team mates down and lose a grand final. what would you do? And what difference would it have made if the finals rules had been released earlier? Would the guys that will miss have not booked holidays based on maybe the week delay for the GF? I wouldn't have thought so! I agree its pretty bad to clarify rules a week into finals. But in all fairness to the MWBL board and penant. They're trying to get some changes in as a result of last years finals situations, and make sure there is fairness for everybody. They've done as much as they can.

To TJS - the tie rule may have needed to have been comunicated earlier, but what was never in question was the fact that if a washout or no result for the GF occurs, the the Grand Finals in grades affected would have been played on the 24th September. This is clearly stated in the rules- we play a 3 week finals series with an extra week if required. Are you suggesting that if we get a washout on the weekend of the 17th then the higher placed team wins? Sorry, but anyone that books holidays for the weekend directly after the scheduled GF weekend is taking a risk - especially with the weather the way it has been.
