How can they be with Mick Poole and Shaun Ralph in charge?

Has Julia shut down broadband in berwick. I find this amazing that The club coach, seconds coach and thirds coach all are no longer at berwick, 8 weeks out from the season and this has been glossed over. Pakkyp? BCC07? Game on? The Puma? Berwick website states. New coach, New season, New cougars. Doc brown and Michael J Fox have had the delorean out and the cougars are back to the future!!! Good luck getting it up to the required 88 miles per hour.

Can someone please shed some light on the current situation at Berwick? Who is the new coach, and more importantly, why?

All good down at the Cougars. New coaches have been appointed. Small restructure has taken place. Our import looks the goods, and our kids are stronger so there are many positives. We will all miss having Pooley, Ralphy and Houghy at the club and we thank them for their huge contributions, but we will be looking forward and taking it in our stride. Still plenty of confidence around the place. Players to meet the new coaching staff today so im sure there will be postings about it shortly. The reason why the change wearnie52, is something i wont discuss. I believe that those guys involved, if they want the reasons public, will discuss it. But other than that I will use a famous line "No Comment".......

Very pleasing turnout to Berwick's first pre-season training this morning with Mouse back at the helm. A great session with plenty of sweat, training in the warm morning sun. A great spirit amongst those there.
For a few that are posing questions about what happened etc - certainly no need to blurt it all over here ... after all, this is the rumour mill, not the fact mill. But to support Game On's comments, clearly the crap that has gone down over the last few weeks has perhaps been the most disruptive in the clubs relatively short history. It had the potential to send this season into complete diasarray.
But thanks to a number of key committee and club people, the club has sucked it up, and have moved on. What has happened has happened. Of course we wish it never had and the people that the club has lost is regrettable.
As for your comment monster, not aware of any exodus of players, and if there are players walking due to the coaching change, well unless Mick picks up a last minute coaching gig and they were to follow him, they were obviouly not 'Berwick' players (if you know what I mean).
But let me make one thing clear ... although I am disappointed in the decision of Messrs Poole, Ralph & Hough ... I bare no grudge and when I see them next, I will shake their hands, shout them a beer and thank them for their contribution to club.

You are right pakky, but i wasnt just talking seniors either. Yep, heard a few might be off, couple to your summer club even... Berwick have lost some quality kids with potential before (ie state rep players) so nothing new in that. Especially when it's a Div 1 club they're going to. Anyway... Back to work for me...

As one of the players mentioned by slowmotion (ie going to melbourne) I can bust the myth. No mcc membership discussed, let alone offered or accepted. I've been a member for ten years anyway (thanks dad for getting me on the list at birth).
I get the same deal I got at sandy the last two years. If I buy my uniform and pay my fees, then they'll let me play the games i'm selected and available for and an opportunity to play div 1.

Column a/column b really. I'm not that good though, and I can't really talk for other more talented players.
Your original post said "every" player though and this is blatantly untrue.

TaG, the "juniors" that now play in the men's senior 9 (Mitchellhill x 2, Hondo x 2, Wiggins, Field & Gourlay, Andy Mann (14), were the product of Melbourne's junior pgm (no hook) and in most cases these kids were there when they were 5 & 6 yrs of age. And yes, when a junior comes along at a very young age they are put up for MCC memebership, but don't receive it until they turn 15. As for "new" seniors, this is up to the committee to determine.
