Will be interesting to find out the Aces roster for this series.
As per usual the Aces website is useless when trying to check out this info.
With all our new Japanese friends now returned to Japan a lot of spots have been opened on the roster.
How will the Aces shape up in the new year without Kamei ?

Aces may not need a roster if the weather and floods continue in Queensland.
What's the latest, Tex? Will we be playing on Thursday night?

The BOM website forecast is not too bad as of today, For sure a high chance of showers stlll, but scattered and not as severe as we just had. I was there the last Saturday that got washed out with Cyclonic like conditions. The field itself drains very well and with the ongoing supreme effort of the Bandits awesome groundstaff. After a deluge about noon, the field was almost ready to play by 4PM until the storms hit again. Fingers crossed for Saturday, a bumper crowd is predicted. Bandits are putting on fireworks post game 31st dec and 1st jan. I will be interested to see the roster changes on both teams with all the Japanese guys gone now

Looks like the Bandits roster has been updated...ish...at least Naylor is Active. I see Naughton is re-assigned???
Anyone know if Wearne and Huber are making the trip? Being active is it safe to assume so? I have a game used Rox jersey of Wearne's, am hoping he'll be there to auto it!
I'm probably going Sat & Sun (box seats Sun!)
Go Bandits!
Mark.

Good find, Sod.
Good on the Queenslanders for having a go. But seriously, if the Aces cannot come up with a better, more knowledgable and more professional commentary than that, then the Melbourne club has a real problem.

How good is the stream picture! Love it! As long as the commentators say the play outcome I'm happy.

Image is fine.
The commentary, the smart-a***d asides, the parochialism and the mistakes are cringeworthy and an embarrassment.

Aces need to get on board with U Stream, surely we have someone who could do it.

Image is fine. The commentary, the smart-a***d asides, the parochialism and the mistakes are cringeworthy and an embarrassment. Kiss my a$$ duke, the commentators are having some fun and supporting their team. The only embarrassment is your home ground. Looking for your live stream, ahh thats right , you don't have one, don't hate just cause your a Mexican and we live in paradise

"Having fun" and "supporting your team" are great concepts, 17. Salt of the earth.
But the ABL is a professional sporting organisation that surely has to set high standards if it wants to be credible.
As A Victorian, I am unhappy that the Aces have been unable to develop a decent on-line broadcasting presence. Mexicans or not, we have two of the best baseball broadcasters in the land (probably the best), who are not being put to use - for whatever reason.
I'm talking about Baseball Radio's Frita and Skinny, who can and should be setting the benchmark for Australian online commentary of the game. They can offer just a little bit more than this "fun" stuff provided by people largely outside the sport.
And as for commenting on the Aces home ground? Have you been there? If not..........

Hey guy's...settle down! Any broadcast is better than none! Any commentary is better than none! Although, I would consider Roli a better commentary expert for national broadcasts....make that MLB broadcasts......no, make that president of the world!!!!!

Oscar Wilde said, "The only thing worse than being talked about is not being talked about".
There should rightly be spirited discussion about what is being done in each state - and how well - to help build the new league.
Reporting, commentary and media coverage are always areas of concern for a minor sport. No doubt the ABL will be considering feedback and comment – preferably constructive – coming from this Forum and other sources as it seeks to develop a stronger communications base.
It is disappointing that Melbourne has not yet organised internet streaming. Until such time that it does get its act together, let's support the other states who are making the effort.
Thursday night’s U-Stream from Brisbane was followed by a modest 35-45 people (whether that posted number was accurate or not I have no idea). Let’s see what they get tonight and at the weekend, as more people become aware of the service through this Forum and through state associations.
7.00 start tonight (Melbourne time) for the Aces to go two from two.

For those who don't know, Tim Nilsson, father of Dave, Gary, Bob & Ron passed away early this morning and the Bandits will be paying their respects to him on the field.

UStream commentary last night struck me as very Queensland. I don't mean that as an insult or a compliment. It is just appropriate for a city that is known for not taking itself too seriously. When it's viewed by arguably the most self-serious city in the country, of course it's going to cause a bit of a ruffle. I totally agree that a bit more professionalism would be welcome but I don't think ABL will suffer. The UStream isn't really branded ABL at all. In fact you wouldn't have heard about it through conventional ABL media. I really enjoyed being able to watch the game and the boys said what happened play-by-play, which is all I wanted from the audio. Good on the Bandits for setting something up. If the Aces are at a loss of commentators I would gladly put my hand up. Wouldn't even need to be there. Heck, just stream the UStream on mute, grab a mic and talk over the top. You can do it in your home. That's what every country does come the Olympic opening ceremony. The challenge is getting the picture. But considering the best seat in the Showgrounds is fenced off for a camera, and a camera is often used, just plug an ethernet cable into it (or something similar), patch it through a commentator and you're away. Cherish the league standings screengrab, Stu. Imports going home, teams finding form, close W/L, topsy turvey results in general. Over the next few weeks the standings could be anywhere.

Hey TL did you see the post on Facebook about the "poor" choice of music Wiggles ect Some people just don't get it. Good on the win. We needed to win at least ONE game against the Aces See what happens when you keep BB to a minimum (Searle withstanding!) Better performance from the bullpen. Hopefully they can back it up tonight. See you all there tonight & tomorrow! PS - Anyone happen to know if P.Moylan made the trip up for some PR work? Mark.

Did the Aces not hear what music The Show played for Bandits sluggers? I would be thankful to get The Wiggles.
