Another big day at Jack Guiliano Field with Essendon prevailing 8-6 in the 1's, obviously player unavailability with squad games affecting the premiers lineup but that aside the Royals battled hard in an entertaining game. Sandy 2's up 6-5 (I think) and from a Royals point of view great to see Terry Jeong throw a couple of digs, he will certainly be a welcome addition to our pitching staff. Royals 3'rds up 6-4 (again I think), Essendon 4'ths by a lot. It is a huge amount of work by the faithful but all 4 sides at the one venue is a no-brainer, great revenue for the home team (outwaying the 2 game split), and a break for the workers on the return fixture. How good was the weather today, although we lost, which hurts, it was just a terrific day to play baseball, and if you don't understand what I'm talking about you just don't understand.

Rebels continued our run out at Paky today. After a slow start and down a couple, Stuey and the D started to shut down the puma offence. After trailing 2-1 after a few, a good innig scoring a coupe saw the grubs grab the lead. Then after a few more, a 3 run shot curtesy of backpack lads saw the lead out to a 6-2 lead. Them after some spirited hitting by Paky, that lead was whittled back 1! But the rebels off the back of good defence and pitching, we managed to hold on, for a 6-5 win, and a 3-0 start. The magoos also managed an excellent win, scoring 12 and shutting out the pakenham batters. Great pitching by the young mash moon has us excited for the future at booth reserve. Looking forward to the return of masters baseball tomorrow night at dandy. Come down, have a beer...it's cold and in abundance! Go rebels!

Blackburn beat Springvale 23-21 in the 1sts. No that's not a typo That is certainly one for the books kc. Early days for the season and in context of the season it can be seen as a blip on the radar but at this level every hit, run, etc., can come back to bite at the other end. I'd like to get a hard copy of that game score and frame it because I don't think you'll see it's like for a long time to come.

How many changes do BV want to make when its 4 weeks in to the season. Div 4 north west and div 4 east apparently merging but there is still a bye.
And div 3 reserves are having Cheltenham put in the comp but div 3 1s still have a bye. Whats going on seriously.

nicko really? When you combine a league of 5( Div 4 NW) with a league of 8 (Div 4 E) you have 13 teams??? Of course there will be a bye, but this way you will only have a bye once or twice for the year. Before this merge your team would have a bye every 4 weeks!!!!! They changed this for YOUR benefit not the teams in 4 E, they had NO bye. But you are the one whinging, SERIOUSLY !!!!

Another big day at Jack Guiliano Field with Sandy hosting Newport's senior teams, again I must apologize for my memory of events which is not very good at this time of night, Sandy prevailed 3-1 in the 1's, Spencer Jack was very good for Sandy through 7.2 and Terry Jeong shut the door, 2nds 13-0 to Sandy, 3rds 6-2 and 4ths 5-4 both to Sandy.

A funny old day at dandy yesterday. The gravies hosting the saints, and a 2-2 game after a couple, soon blew out to a 13-6 lead to for the home team, going into the bottom of the 7th, I think a few rebels thought the job was done. But no one told the saints that. After a comical fielding dig where errors were a standard, the lead was cut to 4, and as the rebels stranded 8 runners out of a possible 9 in the last three innings, yet failing to score, the saints again managed to tie things up, only for the umpires calling the game as a draw, with light I think affecting their decision. A fantastic day early with the bats by the Rebs, only to see it undone with a lot of sloppy fielding opening the game up to to stkilda. Hopefully the mully gribs can continue it's unbeaten ways next week but will need to lift it's intensity for the entire game. Looking forward to another game tonight at dandy in the masters, vs Cheltenham. Go Rebels!

Bonbeach continues to suprise with a good victory over Upwey. That is now both Div 1 relegated clubs accounted for. Good work to Matty Prior and the boys on the success they are achieving at present.

That just shows how committed BV are about providing any form of media coverage. What has the P & S meeting got to do with the media officer? ?

Moorabbin Shut out Willy to the tune of 6 to nil. Grant Irving and Mitch Bowen combined for the shut out. Good hitting at clutch times scored the runs for Moorabbin. That be the Media for the day.

Thanx farnt, great to read about it. That's the way to get people interested and engaged in the VSBL .Keep 'em coming if you can. I bet your club sponsors will be happy with the added exposure by way of raising the clubs profile.

That's the only way we are going to get decent game reports - if the clubs do it themselves. Wrap this week was appalling in lack of detail. If Ash is reading this - bring back KC

This is in the weekly wrap - Editor’s Note: Apologies for the delay in getting the Weekly Wraps posted but all of us here have been chipping in to get the 3,000 Baseball Victoria Melbourne Aces Membership packs ready for Wednesday’s Presidents and Secretaries meeting. If you haven’t received your SportPass, please contact your Club President.
How about Baseball Victiria make sure their own backyard is tidy and up to date before putting paid resources into the Aces Funny when I have approached Baseball Victoria to attend my club to promote the game it was pointed out that someone's time and travelling to the ground would be an expense and we would have to pay, do the Aces pay for Baseball Victoria staff time?

Moorabbin played Bonbeach down at Pantherland and had a close game early due to some excellent pitching from Jon Bannister(Bonbeach) and Franco Vanderka(Moorabbin) until about the 4th or 5th when the bats from Moorabbin exploded for a 10 run inning. The final score was about 12 to nil. Grant Irving blasted a homer over left and plenty of hits spread throughout the team. Franco V pitched the whole seven in a controlled performance.
That's it for media. For further information look at various club websites for write ups.(LOL)

Ballarat Brewers powered away from Malvern for a 9-2 win after the Braves scored two unearned runs in the second. Ricky Howell was terrific over six, while Seth Haehl and Leigh Ashmore delivered the offence for Ballarat. www.ballaratcitybaseball.com.au/#!round-seven/q366x
