For those of you who have asked me recently about my attempts to be re-instated here is some info that I'm sure you would be concerned with -
After the incident that saw me suspended until the end of the 2014/15 summer season in all forms of baseball in Australia. I wrote a letter to the ABF asking for some assistance. I was informed that I could put in an Appeal with them, so I gained legal advice and they drafted a letter on my behalf to make sure I was on the right track. This letter was sent to the ABF office in January 2011 accompanied with a cheque for the appeal fee. I recently sent a Letter to BV asking if they could re-visit the length of my suspension, but was informed that I still had an appeal pending with the ABF. So I called the ABF office and after 12 phone calls and leaving a message, I received a return call with the answer - yes Marc your appeal is still pending.
Almost 2 years!!!!!
I was then informed that the ABF board would meet on 15th Nov. and a decision would be made. I then received an email on 7th Dec with a letter dated 20th Oct. stating that the ABF would not grant an appeal hearing.
I understand that the matter of a lowly Local Baseball player is low on the priorities of the ABF but 2 years is a long time.
I hope this does not happen to a good mate who is about to go through a very sensitive hearing as well.
I think the paid employees of this game need to lift they game.

Macca, Welcome to ABF world, if it makes you feel any better its not only you they won't answer but anyone who actually asks a hard question or dares challenge their authority. On another point, seeing the other 2 amigos were at the Pan Pacs I asked why you were not there. Was told the suspension applied to that as well because it was ratified by the ABF. Surely not. Does anyone know if this is correct? Our Vic masters are not. Can you shed any light KC through your high regard within the ABF?

Sorry for the long delay Evo - I was planning on playing but was told I couldn't from the ABF. It would have been great to play with Russ, Deano and Andy Utts as we all played together in U/18 nationals in 1994. And we had spoken about it at Russ' wedding in Byron. But if that's the ruling I just have to live with that. My issue is - these people are paid employees and seem to have no regard for the post that they hold. No other sporting body would take that long. The AFL get it done in a week, I think it would be reasonable to think that the ABF could get it done in 6 months as it took the tribunal an hour to come up with the original 4 1/2 year sentence.
And if they think I'm going to stop trying to get back on the field as soon as possible, then they don't know me! Thanks to people who have put themselves out to help me return to the field too, your efforts are greatly appreciated.

Funny about that Larry, mine turned up as well. Glad to see that the ABF have their collective finger on the pulse. It's a bit late to use the ticket to the Aces games.

Somebody should get there ar$e kicked for this happening again and again but alas they seem to a very ordinary organisation the ABF so it will just keep happening - what a waste of time and space they are.

You people seem surprised! How do you expect the ABF to send out loyalty cards when their collective focus is, step 1, don't answer anyone. step 2, ride the ABL's coat tails until it makes us look good. step 3, put out as little information as possible. step 4, pack for Taiwan/Japan. step 5, have the worst website in sport. step 6, when you get stuck, refer to step 1 and sorry, make sure you send out loyalty cards a month after the season is over! We are all being played for fools and authentic I agree, "Somebody should get there ar$e kicked".

Well I do not work for ABF but read my answers in Brackets You people seem surprised! How do you expect the ABF to send out loyalty cards when their collective focus is, step 1, don't answer anyone. (WHAT IS YOUR QUESTION?) step 2, ride the ABL's coat tails until it makes us look good. (WHAT DOES THAT STATEMENT MEAN?) step 3, put out as little information as possible.(THE ABF AND ABL HAS VARIOUS WEBSITES AND FACEBOOK PAGES KEEPING FANS UPDATED) step 4, pack for Taiwan/Japan.(IS THIS A LUGGAGE QUESTION?) step 5, have the worst website in sport.(WHAT IS YOUR BENCHMARK FOR THIS STATEMENT) step 6, when you get stuck, refer to step 1 and sorry, make sure you send out loyalty cards a month after the season is over! We are all being played for fools and authentic I agree, "Somebody should get there ar$e kicked". Read more: baseballradio.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=recent#ixzz2M1xN2DiN

I am guessing, but all workers in the ABF glasshouse are all paid. General incompentancy generally will get you the sack in any other business, but it appears you get rewarded within the ABF. We, being us registered players and officials seem to pay money year after year for little or no return. A bit like paying the local council and expect something to happen.
