Spot on Authentic...You should send them a letter and ask What the ABL is doing to protect kids playing baseball PTBN I sent many emails to the ABF and finally got a very impersonal response that offered little in term of filling me with confidence that they had the matter in hand at some level. I think in all I sent maybe 5 emails to them using my name and personal details and only got one reply with no name at the bottom of the author and about 5 emails were left unanswered. Since then even more disturbing information has come to light herein and little or no apparent action taken by the ABF, at least as far as I can tell. If their intention were to stonewall me to make this all go away or remain 'hidden' then they have succeeded marvelously well. I now have no faith in the ABF's ability to deal with this issue based on what they have communicated back to me (and how they did and often did not communicate this information).

authentic, it is understandable that the ABF is proceeding with a degree of caution while police investigations are continuing.
Even this Forum (and any online vehicle, for that matter) needs to be careful about making assertions, inferences and comments on matters of such importance. While some of the comments herein have been pretty heavy, I believe that they have been based on reasonable assessment of the circumstances and the facts as they have been known.
All the same, people seem to be feeling uneasy about this ABD issue not having been resolved in some way or another by now.
Some recent developments.
The gmail address and the telephone number listed as contacts link Jarrett directly to Australian Baseball Digest. There seems no longer any doubt about that.
For the password retrieval service to work, a person has to enter a complete and accurate email address (and/or mobile phone number). Otherwise nothing will happen. Following the process that hudson outlined earlier, you are brought to a page that gives a prompt of the first letter and the last letter of an email address (and the last two digits of a mobile number).
The email prompt in this case was a first and a last “T” (with a specific number of characters). If you enter the email address, let’s say, as "taaaaaaaaaaat@iinet.net.au" (or anything else at random), you will get a message saying, “This doesn’t match the email we have on file. Review the hint and try again.”
The email address simply has to match the unique address (or mobile telephone number) provided by the contact person for ABD.
Anyone who wants to try can type in a range of random addresses that fit the prompts. They won't be accepted and the error message will appear. However, I am informed that if you type in trevorjarrett@iinet.net.au it will be accepted and an email will automatically be sent to that address reminding the owner of his or her password.
Try it if you like. Mr Jarrett will clearly receive any such email generated in that way. Assuming of course that he has not changed the contact details by now.
There is a person living in Sydney - Iva Adjuon, he calls himself - who claims to be the Editor of Australian Baseball Digest. The Australian Baseball Federation (among others) knows who this person is, but it undertook to protect his identity in return for access to supposed ABD computer records.
Iva Adjuon claims that his email account (presumably the ABD account) has been hacked into twice and that someone has changed the details. If this is true, it is a very serious matter. But is it plausible, given all of the other incriminating evidence of Jarrett being involved? You decide.
The person calling himself Iva Adjuon is not Trevor Jarrett. However, information comes our way that he is a person who has been among Jarrett's circle of friends over the years. While I have never met the bloke in question, I am informed on reliable and credible authority that he does not have the organisational skills, nor the contacts, nor the baseball knowledge, nor the grasp of the language to possibly be able to manage the comprehensive ABD service on his own.
That leaves us where we have been at for some time. More than one person is involved in the Digest. Possibly several. All for their various reasons have gone to great pains not to be identified.
Australian baseball is a relatively small community and it is only a matter of time before Iva Adjuon's identity is publicly revealed by one of the many people who know who he is. He will be sweating on that, and he quite likely senses that he has put himself in a difficult situation.
He has already emailed me to ask (or urge) that he not be outed on the Forum.
Iva Adjuon is the monkey. Naming him achieves nothing much other than maybe causing some embarrassment and raising more questions. The real interest is in the identity and the motives of the organ grinder.
I have no time and certainly no sympathy for "Iva Adjuon" or for any of the other people involved in this ABD fiasco, despite their protestations of innocence and their flimsy claim of legitimate reason for anonymity.
Deception, lies and half-truths will always end in grief. It's only a matter of time.

So what is the latest on all of this? Does anyone know?
Does the Australian Baseball Federation have anything to say, or are they just hoping that it will go away, like last time with Jarrett?
We might never know the whole truth in his case, but it's alleged that Peter Roebuck was guilty of serious misconduct regarding young men. The same sort of alleged method. Groom young people over a period of time, befriend them on Facebook, get their trust - all of that stuff.
Trevor Jarrett was proven guilty of child sex offences, despite the pathetic protestations of his supporters. Yet Jarrett and his supporters are still allowed to operate websites and encourage Facebook and email contact when the bloke was warned off any involvement with Australian baseball just two years ago.
What's really going on here?

Is this Jarrett ? Here we 'effing go again - this is a joke ABL, have you done anything ? at least anything you can share with us ? (perhaps even a personal response to my earlier emails direct to you about this issue would have been a good start - ha ha ha I wont wait for them !) AND have you been watching the child abuse/sex scandals over in the States ?
HELLOOOOO any one home in there ? Care to comment as to what you are doing about this !
Or maybe we wait on a 'Grand Jury' (or similar) transcript and then see what you did or didnt do that was meaningful in regards this issue ?

I don't think the ABF can do anything other tell the authorities, which any of us can do. Facebook is a public social media platform which the ABF have no jurisdiction over.
There might be a ruling that registered offenders like TJ need to steer clear of social media and any platform that might put themselves in contact with minors, but that's not for the ABF to enforce.
If someone was to write a letter stating their disgust and shock horror that someone like TJ is able to be associated with ABD and ask for federal police to investigate, it would enable everyone on the forum to print it, sign it and send it off to the correct authorities. Keeping a convicted sex offender out of the public space is NOT the ABFs job, it's the police or federal police.

You are quite right on all counts, barb05.
For as long as no apparent crime or wrongdoing has been committed by ABD, Jarrett or any of his supporters, there is little of substance that the ABF can do.
However, the ABF is in a position where it can at least keep state associations, MLB, ABL and any other regulatory bodies informed that there are serious concerns about the identity and the motives of people currently involved with the Australian Baseball Digest, which is slowly regaining traction online and is clearly emboldened in the knowledge that it has as yet not been outed.
Through the password retrieval service earlier mentioned, it is beyond dispute that Jarrett is the brains behind the Digest.
I remain undecided about whether or not I should disclose the identity of the Jarrett associate who claims to be the ABD Editor. Maybe someone else might beat me to it - especially since his identity is already known in NSW baseball circles.

Im pretty sure that if they (the ABF) conducted any sort of investigation into this (along with the police) then they should at very least send out an alert note to all clubs (even all members) informing them of the recent conduct of Jarrett and his 'supporters' and forewarn as many people as possibly of his past (and present) actions/activity in the baseball world.
They could even stick it in that Newsletter we get from them, so long as it isnt 4-months out of date by the time they send it again !

Regarding the Courier Mail article, one could quite easily get the impression from the byline that it is some kind of official police position that 4/5 children have been targeted by paedophiles on the Internet. The body of the article clarifies this as an officer speculating that 4/5 have had "something inappropriate" happen to them on the Internet. Most of the advice in the article is pretty sensible, though.
The problem of identity on the Internet is quite vexed and would likely require a complete overhaul of both the Internet itself and government on a global scale to even approach solving properly. If our man Iva Adujon, for example, had adopted a more plausible name, he could quite easily have corroborated it to an extent that would satisfy most people even though it would have been an entirely fraudulent identity. If he had not-extraordinary means and motive, he could purchase a stolen identity.
Were Facebook, in the context of the Internet and government existing as it does now, for example, to require identity documents to be scanned and emailed to Facebook staff as a pre-requisite for account creation, users would have no reason to trust that such data would be safe in transit nor where it was hosted by Facebook, they would have to submit that data to the control of a jurisdiction they cannot vote in, and in any case would consider it too onerous and would go elsewhere. I certainly would - there's no way I'd send my documents to Facebook, they can probably already piece together far too much of my identity as it is.
Then we have the case of rogue sites - it's all well and good to consider the risk of paedophiles using a social networking site to groom children, but how would anyone know that the site operators aren't collecting masses of data in order to do the same thing?

Hey kc if you are undecided about whether or not you are prepared to say who is behind Iva then it must be someone that people in the baseball world would know of.....do we really feel that these people deserve to be able to hide all the time....Jarrett was allowed to and he was protected by people who knew what he was about and to this day they are still protecting him...i just dont get why there is so much secrecy with all this....if you know who the person is why wouldnt they want it know to the baseball community if they have nothing to hide...arent we just feeding their ego on forums such as this with whispers and innuendos its making them out to be protected species.....i say out the person and its their own d**n fault if it stirs up mud.

In view of my continuing frustration and lack of genuine understanding as to why the editor of baseball digest's identity is being protected I have decided to make public my knowledge of this person's identity. Some time ago whilst we were playing a series in Sydney a senior official from Sydney told a group of us that Grant Johnson was the editor of the Australian Baseball Digest. I have kept this information to myself up to this point, although others are well aware of this person's identity. I have been searching for reasons not to disclose what we were told for quite some time, but can find none. Johnson is well known in and around baseball in Sydney and by all accounts is producing an informative digest. My personal opinion is that others are also contributing to the production of this site and the lack of disclosure and secrecy surrounding the editorship is uncomfortable to me and obviously many others. I no longer wish to carry the burden of secrecy regarding this person's identityand see no reason to do so.

Phil, so very well said. I also very much doubt that Mr. Johnson is acting alone. Frankly, I beleive that a person who verbalises as he does would have a similar ability (or inability) to write.
In other words, I doubt very much that Mr. Johnson would be able to post such concise, well written and informative information alone - without, for example, major editorial assistance of a former school teacher, President of the ABF (dismissed for reasons unknown), Player Agent, etc.
Mr. Johnson was often in the company of Trevor Jarrett and the late Andre Desjardins (former NSWIS Head Coach), and indeed Johnson was responsible for setting up the field and the equipment for training over a considerable period of time.
Unfortunately for the majority, Jarrett is still being supported by a minority of people he has brainwashed over a long period of time (that could also be interpreted by some to read: 'groomed').
If Jarrett is not heavily involved in the ABD I'll be the most surprised Australian baseball follower on this planet.

Interesting post on Australian Baseball Digest. I happened to notice a post from Bob Hurd on the ABD website. Out of interest I googled Bob Hurd ... nothing, so I googled Robert Hurd Baseball...up comes a page entitled Marshals Arrest Child Rape Suspect In Oaklahoma City. On reading this page Hurd is accused of the rape of an 8 year old. An accused Child Sex Offender (Hurd) posting a comment on the webpage of a convicted Child Sex Offender (Trevor Jarrett). Is this a coincidence...or too much of a coincidence??

I was wondering can the pseudo editor be charged with anything such as an accomplice or something if (God forbid) something happens to one of the kids that follow that site? My question is legit as I'm not sure, but if Jarrett was able to interfere with another child, would the editor who is covering for him have some sort of case to answer?

Mr Johnson, if you do read this site, and you are in some way connected to or covering for a convicted Child Sex offender, then you too are a ****
I hope you get your right whack if something happens to a child because of this site. I heard you have a child, hopefully he isn't or doesn't become a victim of the person you are covering for and this horrid site.

Mr philallen, Good on you for nameing this person but it still seems there is a little confusion in who really may be behind this site. I know this won't mean much to anyone but if the ABF had put their name to your post the world would not have ended and they just might have gained a little respect for keeping baseball fans informed but instead the ABF (who obviously have known this information for a while) do what they do so well and pretend nothing is going on and allow this site to continue. To use an old line "nothing to see here folks so move along" Sad really.
P.S. I have noticed Derryn Hinch is back on air. I wonder what he would do with this information??

cubs, it seems clear that a Grant Johnson is connected with the ABD website and that his so-called editorship is known by many people (including the strangely quiet Australian Baseball Federation on this matter).
Johnson's known direct involvement with the Digest places him front and centre for any culpability in the event that ABD associates are in future implicated in any illegal activity. Whether he likes it or not, he will be the fall guy if or when that happens.
As we have known from the start, there are really troubling things going on here.
It's been clearly established that convicted child sex offender Trevor Jarrett is directly connected with ABD and its online activities (whatever the purpose of those activities might be). We now know that a Grant Johnson is also directly involved with ABD and its online activities (again, whatever the purpose of those activities might be).
Going by the seemingly slow uptake of "friends" on the ABD site since questions were first asked, the baseball community is well aware of the stench surrounding all of this. Yet the "Iva Adjuon" Facebook page seems to be steadily picking up its share of "friends" (though nothing, yet, like the 3500 - mostly young men - that ABD had on its Facebook a few months ago).
I wonder how many people listed in fact know that they are Facebook "friends" of "Iva Adjuon". I wonder if they are happy to be listed as among the "Iva Adjuon" family.
Aside from all of the suspicions and the unease about what Jarrett and his supporters are up to, we should keep the following in mind as a matter of principle.
This ABD service may be impressive to some in what it seems to do. But the fact is that Johnson, Jarrett and the others involved provide nothing original and nothing unique for Australian baseball supporters.
All of the Digest's material is copied and pasted from other sources.
While all legitimate online news and reporting services feed off each other to a degree, ABD "staff" seem to make no effort to break stories, to produce their own features, to conduct their own interviews, to generate their own images or even to disclose their identities.
Why not, I wonder? Are they not capable? Do they have something to hide?
At face value, these faceless people have no journalistic, personal, moral or institutional credibility whatsoever - despite appearing to fill a vacuum in Australian baseball reporting services.
Ask them the hard questions on the ABD website. Engage with "Iva Adjuon" on Facebook if you like.
See how you go........

I can't see any reason why any number of people cant become a 'friend' of 'Iva Adjuon' and continually post the Jarret media article onto the site (if it allows it) to do with his known predatory ways and prior criminal charges ?

thank you Mr. Allen for having the guts to let us know...well well well Mr. Johnson still the servant...always was and always will be....maybe he thinks Jarrett might get his son signed for him if he continues to do his bidding....nasty nasty...and yes knowing Mr. Johnson there is no way no how he could put that page together himself.....he thinks hes an expert but then so do a lot of other people around baseball so he is not alone....when is it gonna finally get into peoples thick heads that this is a game that kids play and must at all times be protected from predators....no wonder people walk away from sport there is just too much to deal with sometimes....i think i might send an email to my state body and see if they wil give me any info as they wouldnt when i called them sometime back....they said it was being looked into ....what a crock!!!!!

Speaking of serious matters to do with our sport (from a different thread herein) whats the latest with Trevor Jarrett and his 'protectors' ?
I hear he live in Melbourne's East these days and yet his 'protectors' are up in NSW for the most part, is this true ?

Don't know about Jarrett living in Melbourne's east these days, authentic, but someone might be able to confirm it - not that it matters under which rock the creature decides to abide.
What we do know is this.
There is still no public statement from the ABF in regard to its stance on the Australian Baseball Digest and Jarrett's proven involvement. That remains a concern.
Try as ABD may, relatively few people have befriended the convicted sex offender and his supporters via social media. More "friends" appear to have been recruited by Jarrett alter-ego "Iva Adjuon" on Facebook (presumably because some people have not yet made the connection).
Despite its frenetic, daily plagiaristic activity masquerading as a service to the sport, Australian Baseball Digest and its online supporters are clearly on the nose to the baseball community. One of those supporters - the ubiquitous "MLB Blogger" (otherwise known as "ABL Blogger") - continues to express its editor's man-love for ABD despite being previously informed of Jarrett's involvement with the Digest.
While a rumour it may only be, I've heard it said that the editor of MLB/ABL Blogger is an associate of Trevor Jarrett. Surely that cannot be the case. Can anyone confirm that? And if so, what does it tell us?
MLB/ABL Blogger is a member of this Forum and visits these pages to promote his blogs. Perhaps he might like to respond to concerns being expressed. If he has no connection with Jarrett (and knows of Jarrett's history, which he presumably would have read about here) then surely he would want to distance himself from the Digest and its supporters given the shady and disturbing nature of ABD activities.
The ABF might bury its head in the sand over these matters (as it has done before), but there are legitimate concerns that will simply not go away.

I stuck a little note next to ablbloggers last post Duke, so lets see what he does next when he next logs in, Im sure he would want to distance himself from Trevor Jarrett if he has no connection to him and feels (as we all do) the same as we do about Jarrett's past actions or for that matter what 'ABD' and/or 'I Have Had You On' ... I mean 'Iva Adjuon' are up to
