In another thread on this Forum (BV reporting), I mentioned that the Aussie Baseball Forum would be closing down in mid-2017 - when the current arrangement with our provider expires.
It has been brought to our attention that a "New Forum" Facebook page has today been created. It purports to be operating on behalf of the state governing body, with links to the page apparently distributed to clubs and to other Victorian baseball interests.
We have no knowledge whatever of who is responsible for the Facebook page, although we are convinced that it is not the state governing body. Surely it could not be.
The page has nothing to do with this Forum. We believe that it has nothing to do with any of our members.
Whoever is responsible is playing a dangerous game in misrepresenting the governing body in intent, in words and in the use of copyrighted logo images. The Facebook page might simply be mischievous (which is annoying enough), though it could also be malicious in purpose (which will be pissing all of us off).
Should the Facebook page become an issue, Aussie Baseball Forum will cooperate in any reasonable manner that it is able to help avoid any potential damage to relationships within the sport.
A simple suggestion to the person who created the bodgie Facebook page (again, assuming that it was not the state governing body).....
Just take it down.
