Breezy and bloody cold in Ballarat today, where the Brewers pegged back a six-run deficit and went on to beat Williamstown 12-9 in a Division Two game played in great spirit by both clubs. www.ballaratcitybaseball.com.au/What bat? Who needs a bat?

Rebels challenged all the way for a 4-3 win over Ormond at bonbeach. An absolutely outstanding outing from Marty young, 96 pitches for a complete outing giving up very little. The offence stuttering a little but clearly the better of the teams with Ormond runs come in just two innings. We'll take it going into a return game at dandy vs stkilda. Twos and 4's comfortable winners. No prez's shout(thank Christ!)

Springvale and Newports thirds game was completed in 58 minutes with Springvale winning 11-1. Not sure if its a record or not but its certainly rare to finish a game in under an hour.

Was there any other club baseball played over the weekend?
Baseball Victoria competition pages say that there was plenty, but again no detail or no stories anywhere else. Still, I guess it is only Monday night - plenty of time for Leader or Star newspaper staff to help out.

Does anyone else think that it would be a good idea for the VSBL media department to physically attend a blue ribbon game once a week and report more than can be found on a scorers sheet or a club submission?
I mean......really?

The media reports that are being gleamed off the Local papers and Club reports is fine, but is that what our media department is being paid for, cut and paste. At least Cam had a crack and actually attended games, but the doyen of all media for Baseball is nicely plying his trade for the Alumni and Ballarat Brewers. Just as well I can talk to people, it's seems to be the only communication of finding out what has actually happened.
