What a week of games last round with some big upsets. The stingers showed why their pitching staff is regarded as the best in the comp and Wiggins showed why he is being talked about as an option for the Aces starting rotation this coming summer. Westgarth scratched out a draw against the (name redacted for legal reasons) and the Penguins flexed their ample girth and swapped places with the Burra’s. Watsonia and Croydon are on the bottom of the ladder and are likely to stay there. GREENSBOROUGH V KNOX A tough loss last week for Greensborough to Heathmont. The loss meant that they swapped place on the ladder. No doubt Greensborough will be more focused on staying in the 4 and above (name redacted for legal reasons) then on if they finish 3rd or 4th. In the end it’s just home field advantage and they did win the flag from 4th spot a few years back. Knox gave Watsonia a bit of a touch up last week scoring freely against the saints. Will Kieran Lewis be able to get the Falcons over the line with another sneaky call? MR X says NO. Burra’s win 8-4 NORTH BALWYN V HEATHMONT The stingers dealt out a big upset last week as they rode the back of Campbell Wiggins complete game shutout. They managed to score only 2 but when your starter deals goose eggs that’s all you need. Heathmont got realz on Greensborough last week and are now just 1 point out of 2nd. Paul Weichard (although Ive heard he looks like the guy who ate Paul Weichard at the moment) returned for a pinch hit which could be a big impact come finals. The penguins bashed out a couple of home runs and are starting to look threatening, even in the face of continued poor defence by emperor Penguin Daniel Mack. Can the stingers throw two shut outs in a row? Nope! MR X says Penguins win this 7-1 (NAME REDACTED FOR LEGAL REASONS) v CROYDON Due to action taken by (name redacted for legal reasons) in the Victorian Supreme Court MR X is unable to comment on any of (name redacted for legal reasons) games in the immediate future. Legal action pursued against MR X combined with threats against MR X, MRS X and all the little X’s mean I must for now remain silent. To all my loyal followers I assure you the truth cannot be silenced for long, the people have a voice and that voice is MR X. WATSONIA V RINGWOOD Saints v Saints. MR X says this game should decide who gets to be called the saints and who has to change their name. Man up Saints and Saints make the bet. Winner remain saints loser becomes either Watsonia Wood Worms or Ringwood Ring Worms. Watsonia don’t appear to have much interest in the season right now, while Ringwood are all up and about. Coach Bright has many balls in the air recruiting players for Blackburn, heavy social commitments, dealing on the mound but yet he is still managing to lead the mighty Ringwood boys to top of the ladder. Might be too early to say but Adam Bright coach of the year? Mr X says mmmm yeah clubbb! Back to the game this will be no problem for the saints they will beat the saints 10-1. WESTGARTH V GMBC Westgarth did a great job collecting a point against (name redacted for legal reasons) last weekend. This should be a tougher ask. Westgarth should be very proud of what they have done their first year back and its most likely they will stay up. GMBC have had a couple of losses in a row but surely no need to panic for them or is there? No there’s not or is there? No! It’s hard to see Westgarth providing any real scare here for Monty. MR X says GMBC 9-2 ODDS OF WHAT YOU MIGHT SEE THIS WEEKEND Adam Bright putting horses heads in the beds of players who refuse his offers. 4-1 Reyne inside the Knox club house. Evens (name redacted for legal reasons) chilling out and taking the write up for what it is, a bit of fun. Write your own ticket.

Great preview Mr.X. One amendment, Andy Mann closed it out for the Stingers last week.

A baseball connection, in the Nation's newest darling, Ashton Agar. Former Cheltenham junior, I am fairly sure.

Week 12 in the DBA this week with the four pretty much settled barring any minor miracles should see the season wind down to just position changing. First game up is FRANKSTON v CHELTENHAM: If any of the minor miracles are going to occur this is the first of them. The Tomatoes need to win to keep any minor hope flickering and with a near full compliment take on a partially depleted Rustlers. The Rustlers would be smarting from last weeks suprise loss to the Dodgers and will be looking for swift revenge but miracles do happen and the Tomatoes to get up down at the new Patch. BERWICK v DINGLEY: The suprise packet of the DBA season so far is the Dodgers who are sitting fourth two and a half games clear of fifth. This game will be a battle of who has the better defence, the hitting of both sides is pretty much equal. I just feel that the Dodgers are on a bit of a roll and should continue their winning ways. Dingley will be tough, but I feel that their pitching is a bit light on. BONBEACH v DANDENONG: Unfotunately passion doesn't win games, even if the Bluejays exude buckets of it. The Angels have hit their straps at the right time of the season and shouldn't have too much trouble disposing of the Bluejays. The Angels in seven. MORNINGTON v PAKENHAM: Both sides have been on the same rollercoaster and have recorded some highs mixed in with some disappointing lows. The Pirates have been fairly impressive at Pirate Park where as the PUMAS have had a bit trouble on the road. That being said, the crystal ball is fading quickly and the Pirates should take the bounty in a close fought tussle. To the umps, keep up the good work, it has been a pleasure to watch your work and humour this season. Keep swinging hot bats and may the strong arms never fade.

The moon and sun have aligned and the first of many required miracles have occured. The Tomatoes got up over the Rustlers 5 to 1. Dingley turned it on and got up over the Dodgers 11 to 3.

Soggy and rain-afflicted conditions in the GBA this afternoon, with the Guild vs Brewers (55 minutes) and Corio vs Saints (45 minutes) A Grade games being called before a result could be achieved. At home, Lara overcame a three-run deficit to nail Bellarine 9-8, further strengthening the Wildcats' hold on league leadership. Werribee plays host to Deakin on Sunday in a game that gives the visitors a shot at moving into fourth. www.geelongassociation.baseball.com.au

A couple of other results, the Angels getting the job done in 7 inning over the Bluejays 19 nil and the Pumas doing a number over the Pirates 12 to 3.
