In breaking news today, we have learned that Neale Price has been appointed to the CEO position after an exhaustive selection process.
Although involved with cricket for the past sixteen years, Neale Price has a strong background in baseball and he has maintained a direct interest in the sport.
We wish him all the very best for a lengthy and productive tenure with Baseball Victoria, starting from his commencement of duty on 8 July.
Clubs and associations have been notified with details of the appointment.

Played State Juniors (back in the days when Victoria actually won National Championships) and Div 1 for Blackburn. Wish him nothing but good luck in the job. Hopefully the entire Sport will get behind him and he will provide the direction we need to grow the game.

From memory Neale was the club coach down at Dingley several years ago, getting them to the GF. Top bloke and wish him all the best.

A brilliant and forward going move by BV. Knowing Neale for a long time he will relish the challenge of getting the game back on track. Congratulations.

It's been many years since I've had any contact with "Pricey" but if he approaches this position with the same, no nonsense, straight forward, honest way he approached the game as a player we are on a winner.
I wish you well as you steer the game forward in our state.

According to earlier reports, the new CEO began work with Baseball Victoria on 8 July.
It is understandable and totally proper that he should take time to meet with stakeholders, get a feel for the tasks required and set an agenda for the short and longer future of the organisation.
Nevertheless, I am gobsmacked that by now there has been no mention on the BV website of his starting work. He is not even listed in the contact details on what is, after all, the shopfront of Victorian baseball. We know that BV staff can be tardy and less than motivated in dealing with a range of matters (something that the CEO will need to address), but surely some bright spark among the paid personnel or the board should have by now seen it proper to publicly welcome Neale Price, get a few salient quotes from him, or at the very least have him listed as boss on the league website!
Maybe he changed his mind and went elsewhere. That's what some people might think. Who knows? Poor form, BV staff and board. This is the beginning of a new era for the organisation. Fire up, for chrissakes.

Neil is a great operator , his passion for sporting excellence will drive his leadership.
His experience around cricket Victoria has him well educated in sports admin and leadership.
I know that the fact that he isn't listed on a webpage won't take his eye off the early goals he will have set for himself.
Good luck Neil

target, please do not see my comments as an unwarranted swipe at the new CEO (who has been there five minutes after all). We all hope and trust that he will be successful in the job.
My concern is that no other paid BV employee, volunteer or Board member has extended Neale Price and the Victorian baseball community the courtesy of welcoming the man to the job in the most public and far-reaching manner - online.
Constructive staff initiative can never go astray.

G'day to both 'target' and 'player', both worthy tags for people that are passionate about the betterment of baseball. Modern media has a voracious appetite and information must be provided at an ever fastening pace. I can categorically state that, with the ever changing nature of sports presenters and admin's, that it is vital that our baseball admin' ensures that their ever changing status is made known to every media org' and government body that matters. Pronto! Then back it up, week in, week out. In a sport that screams out for a higher profile, the lack of self promotion is astounding to me. Neale Price...I wish you the best and by extension, the best for us. Like it or not, immediacy is key in this day and age if you want to grow, let alone stay current.

Player, I understand where you are coming from. Perfekt as well.
Interesting how media and the expectations have and continue to change.
I'm not challenging your opinion as your not wrong, however I'm Also not judging bv on not publicizing the appointment.
Ultimately in my mind success of the sports admin Is to boost participation, reduce cost to members and improve high performance.
A big ask for anyone in the role, but hopefully Neil can succeed in his ambitions.
