Hi guys, the MWBL would like to make all players and teams aware that the Washed Out games page will again be active on the MWBL website. Any game that is notified to the league prior to start time will be loaded onto the page that will appear on the home page of the MWBL website. An email has been sent to all clubs with the txt number and email address to send information to.
We can't guarantee that all games will be posted, this will depend on notification, but we will do our best.
Lets hope we don't have to do this too many times this winter
Cheers

Any excuse to have a go legend? Why would they need to announce it before today? It is continuing what was done last winter

Two or so hours before game time is ample notice - well done to clubs that go to the ground early and advise us all via the VWBL website in advance - its a great MWBL initiative !

Ross Straw Field in fantastic condition today. Too bad it's going to be destroyed by the East-West tunnel.

Don't be so sensitive and settle the **** down Stockley. Am I allowed an opinion, just as you are not shy in giving yours?
All I am saying is, if it weren't for seeing the above from the Pres, I would of had no idea that the wash out page existed on the MWBL homepage as I have not seen mention of it any other rounds on there. But maybe it only came about at 7:30 am on Saturday morning. Or maybe this has been publicised before but I missed the memo ............

Letting people now that such a page exists Stockley would allow players to check the site instead of making numerous phone calls to club officials. But people need to be aware of it and if they aren't a forum reader people may not be aware hence why my phone rang from 7-8 am from parents asking if games were on, I couldn't refer them to the website as I didn't know there was a page up for wash outs

I applaud MWBL and 'MWBLpres' for the alerts posted on, their website and on this forum. It was not knee jerk stuff but timely and pro-active. Congrat's also to all the winter clubs that supplied the cancellation advice to the MWBL swiftly. Apart from calling each player individually, I don't know what else could have been done. The fact that you were fielding calls from 7am 'legend', tells me that the people calling you, all knew about the heavy rain overnight and there was a chance of cancellations. Missed the memo ? If in doubt just check on the MWBL website and keep checking. If there is no info regarding games in your sphere then advise people to keep preparing for a game-on situation and check the MWBL website regularly. Yes you could have referred them to the website. Club officials and players should be well aware of MWBL website and expect a page on it, such as the one provided this past weekend, re washouts. It's winter ball and everyone expects the probabilty of a wash-out, so a pre-emptive enquiry to the MWBL about their wash-out protocol may have been helpful.

Interesting you would say Proactive not Reactive to an initiative that was in place last year and activated again this year Legend. I would have thought this was a Proactive move on the part of the MWBL. And where was the Proactivity on your behalf to contact the juniors at your club to advise of the washouts instead of waiting for their calls?? Thanks to all the Proactive clubs who contact me and advised, thanks to the players and officials that viewed the site....Legend, the page is on our website now, I am giving you 13 days notice in case it rains again for the next round, 6 days notice to tell you there are no games this week, and 12 weeks notice to tell you the senior finals start on Saturday August 31st.

John King sent an email re the Banyule Flats Under 13 DV around 6.30am cancelling all games which I'm sure would have especially helped those traveling from Broadford and further afar. Well done Kingy.
