The Geelong Baseball Club is excited to announce it has appointed Sean Arnott as Club Coach for the next two seasons.
After considering applicants from across the globe, the Baycats settled on Arnott, a Geelong local, as the ideal coach to lead the club through to the end of the 2014-2015 season.
An assistant coach with the Baycats in 2011-2012, Arnott displayed a clear understanding of the strengths of the Baycats program and culture, keys to the club’s successes over the past decade. With the club determined to continue building on the successful legacy of outgoing coach Nathan Holmes, Arnott is seen as a safe pair of hands to continue guiding the Baycats forward to its goal of being recognised as the strongest, most-recognisable baseball club in Australia.
Previously, Arnott was the coach of the Lara Wildcats in the Geelong Baseball Association, leading the Wildcats to three consecutive championships between 2005 and 2007, before coaching stints with the Lara and Alexander-Thomson Cricket Clubs.
As the new Summer League season approaches, the Baycats will host a Coach’s Night where players and members will have a chance to meet with the new coach and discuss his plans for the upcoming season. In the meantime, the Geelong Baycats would like to congratulate Sean Arnott on his appointment, as we look forward to continued success under his leadership.
The Geelong Baycats, located at the Geelong Baseball Centre in Waurn Ponds, compete in Baseball Victoria’s Summer League between October and March, and currently have close to 100 senior members and more than 150 junior members.
