Some tight A Grade contests in the GBA today, with Deakin sharing a 3-3 draw with Bellarine (ten innings) and Ballarat Brewers scoring a couple of late runs to force a 5-5 result against Werribee. With pitchers in control for both clubs, Guild edged away mid-game to land a 3-0 win over Lara, while Bacchus Marsh posted its second win (from three) by whitewashing Corio 9-0. Saints had the A Grade bye. www.geelongassociation.baseball.com.au

Nth Coburg Rebels 4-1 I think in B Grade and 13-3 maybe in B Res versus a young and pretty inexperienced Diamond Creek line-up that tried hard all day.
Our 3's and 4s got beat comfortably by a couple of pretty handy Waverly sides down the grades (D2 and E1). Great to see our 4's out there on the Park for the first time ever :-)

Berwick beat Frankston 16-7 on a day where the hitters from both sides made solid contact throughout the game.
15yo Steve Hughes, playing B3 this time last season, started for the Dodgers and threw five scoreless innings before tiring in the sixth as the Tomatoes came back from 7-0 down to get within a run, but from there, a run on a balk opened the floodgates for the Dodgers, who scored the last nine runs of the game.
The Dodger battery of a 15yo Stevie and 16yo Brad Kmet behind the plate would have to be one of the youngest seen in A Grade for a few years. Brad also had at least three hits to compliment his game behind the dish.
The only negative out of the game came for the Tomatoes with a potential serious knee injury to Simon Myles, who was just running to second base at a time when there wasn't even a play at the base. Fingers crossed from all in that it proves to be minor and that he's back on the field soon.

Great work Buddha getting scores updated way before the DBA's Monday 9am deadline.
Interesting results what's happening with Bonbeach these days, losing to the newcomers in A Grade, rebuilding phase?

Bonny has lost a lot of players to another Club. Credit to Neil Jones for taking on the coaching role. Going to be a tough year blooding players probably ahead of the time. Good luck to Bonbeach and Harpo for the season.
