Important games in prospect again this week - as the momentum builds across all grades. Can Waverley challenge Cheltenham for fourth placing in Division One? Can Melbourne make a late dash with an apparently more favourable draw than some? In this topsy-turvy season, is there any such thing as a "favourable" draw? Will twelve wins be enough to stay in Divvy One? Will Fitzroy upset more favoured clubs in Division Two? Can North West Titans win a pennant in its first year of Summer League competition? No odds on offer. Baseball people don't bet. Do they?

Great to see both divisions could come down to the last game to see finals spots decided.
I dont think anyone in Div 2 is taking Fitzroy lightly ;-)

Every win counts. Every loss hurts.

It will be a good weekend of baseball. A lot of pressure on teams to win, and yes baseballers dont bet on baseball.....What odds are you going to give me?

Essendon jumped out to a 5-2 lead after 3, stretched it to 7-2 after 5 but this proved no obstacle for Geelong who pegged things back to 7-6 after 8.
Geelong proved to be the goods in the 9th inns as they first leveled the scores then followed by picking up a bases loaded BB to secure the win.

heard there was a bit of shannagans going on at the final bell Goblin, cheap seats became REALLY cheap!!!!! Despite sitting front and center I didn't know what the fuss was about. As I was looking down finishing off twitter I did hear something from some Geelong players. I did not pick up what it was or what it was about. Kudos to Geelong on their fight back. Essendon were certainly found wanting when the crunch came.

There was some displeasure expressed from the Essendon section when Chris Durston was called safe stealing 3rd in the bottom of the 9th, and there were a few other contentious calls. I would guess that was it...

Should be a good game this weekend in Div 4 nort. Preston B take on North Weatern Titans A at mapherson park in melton. Titans A will finish on top. Preaton B fighting for a spot in the finals. Who does everyone think will make it to the grand final and who will win the grand final

Good win by the rebels yesterday! Willy have owned our ones for a few years. Just a team that's always given us grief. Spoke to pepper at about 4.30 and he told me they were down about 7-2, and not looking good. Anyone that was there should fill us in on the game.

Watched a few good games on the weekend, saw some excellent baseball. good double plays and some good hitting, finals must be in the air as the seasons worth of training starts to come to fruition for the teams in the finals race. Bring it on.

Hey old racer, the concern was umpires having to be escorted from the ground due to the behaviour of a visiting supporter. Outrageous behaviour that tarnished a pearler of a game.

If a 'B' team lines up in 'A' grade, it makes them an 'A' team. Pls no excuses.

Played the Sandy better side last night and they play a heck of a lot better than their A3 and A4 sides that are sitting dead last in both sections. Had a good game against them, blew in one innings. Still a good result considering.

Just a last note in no way were any other supporters or players poorly behaved. I have some good friends at Essendon and in no way wish this to reflect upon the club. What happens in an instant a club can't control. ( From previous experiences trying to administer clubs ) Oh and you obviously realise I barrack for Essendon football club and I hadn't heard valium was on the list with peptides? Hey old racer, the concern was umpires having to be escorted from the ground due to the behaviour of a visiting supporter. Given that said person had left the ground long before the umpires, not sure where the comment regarding umpires having to be escorted from the ground came from.

I think you'll find jrj that there is a difference between ground and stadium, the said parent was at the ground at the end of the game as were the umpires, I would imagine he would have left the stadium very shortly after his final tirade whereas the umpires would be getting changed and doing their paperwork

mariners went down 15 2 to newport last night. Would like to thank the newport boys for hanging around for a beer or meal post game!
