The North Balwyn Baseball Club is excited to announce that Justin Huber will join its coaching lineup for the 2013 winter season. North Balwyn is also thrilled to have Phil Dale, an Australian Baseball Hall of Famer, back for the 2013 winter season as head coach.
Dale, a former Olympic team pitching coach and current coach of the Melbourne Aces, joined the club in 2012.
Huber, a former Major League player is a current member of the Melbourne Aces and Team Australia and will shortly be playing in the World Baseball Classic in Taiwan. He joins current Melbourne Aces and Stingers coach, Phil Dale, as an assistant at the Stingers.
Huber was an All-Star catcher in the Minor Leagues as well as an impressive slugger (with 110 career home runs), while his time in the Major Leagues with Kansas City, San Diego and Minnesota, saw him develop as a first baseman and outfielder.
Since returning home he has been a regular with the Melbourne Aces and heavily involved in promoting the game at all levels.
“His experience as a player and the work he’s done as Participation Manager with Baseball Victoria, and coaching at the Melbourne Aces Baseball Academy, is going to be a real boost for us this year and we’re very excited to have him,” NBBC President Andy Rose said.
