It may have been 3 or 4 years since I have had the privilege of gracing the GWE, but I am glad to see nothing has changed then. Couldn't get a bite to eat after playing a late game then. Could it be the management running the place to blame? Do they really want to be there? Who knows.

Pirates went down 6-4 against the Baycats in an entertaining game. Pirates plated three in the top of 8 to take a one run lead but gave three back in the equaliser.
Mitch Ley threw really well over 7 for us, matched by Tom K-C for the Baycats. Baycats hit well all day and Ley showed poise beyond his years to dance in and out of danger.
Hadn't seen Tom K-C throw before but I liked the way he went about it; attacked hitters and worked fast all day.
Both Saturday games showed just how even Division One is this season, with the Eagles blowing their chance of an upset through a couple of untimely errors.

On the way back from MBP today, the GLW and I dropped in at Malvern for a couple of innings, however the game had been halted due to an injury to a catcher after a collision at home plate.
While the game was delayed half an hour, I don't think anyone there minded the wait for the ambulance as the player's safety and well being is paramount. Was good to see the professionalism of the Paramedics in regards their work too. They were brilliant.
Fingers crossed the young man is OK and will be back representing his club in the very near future.
The most recent report I had from the Club President was that the visit to Box Hill Hospital was a precautionary action that is totally appropriate in such cases.
Let us hope that the young bloke is OK.
It is in instances like this that we are reminded of the things that really matter in baseball and in life.

Travelled out to Doncaster yesterday morning and I would like to commend the Preston team Manager for organising the line up of the two teams for a inutes silence at 11.00am. A very fine touch in teaching the young players respect for the past. A very hearty well done.
Some good news for Bubbie after a couple of hours at hospital waiting for X-rays, thankfully showing no breaks. Sore but suggesting he might be right for Sunday!!
