With just over a week to Opening Day, the news is minimal on who is playing with whom - especially in Division One and Two.
Summer League website mentions a handful of players who have been cleared to this point. No non-nationals are listed.
What do we know for sure on clearances? Who has non-nationals? Who are they? Baycats have Travis Rooke-Ley, Bubbie is believed to be returning to Preston, Mulgrave has one Mike McGillivray, Doncaster has an unnamed player......
What do we know for sure?

I am lead to believe Mike Biallargeon will be returning for Werribee this year.

Do Melbourne have the same import as last year?
Who else has an import player? Blackburn? Or after the import not working out last year have they stuck with home grown players?

Down at the Cougar Dome their import has been here for a few weeks already. Looking strong early and working with the younger players

Port Melb named their import for the season. S.Pearson.
A lefty hitter with some pop. Interesting choice not to go a thrower.

We at Port Melbourne would like to announce the signing of .............. Oh thats right we cant because people in charge of some clubs think they are bigger than the game and stop blokes playing the game where they choose. Sooner or later clubs will realise they are no chance of getting players back when they put tgem tgrough this crap!

Need more details to understand this post mate - sometimes clearance rejections are valid, most times they are ridiculous and petty.

Appears fairly clear to me authentic!! Obviously the finer details are missing and possibly for good reason but I think we all get the gist - there's a player that wants to play at Port but his current/previous club are delaying proceedings. Whether reasons are valid or not, if a guy doesn't want to play somewhere anymore.......let him go!! What don't you understand, it happens at the start of every season.

Broohaha hit it right on the head. In this so called Professional/Unprofessional run League some clubs believe that they have the rights to the players soul and as such should have the ability to srew any player around to suit the means. By any regulation governing sport in general, if the player is financial and not under any suspension the club cannot withold his clearance application. The Club can ask the player to meet the committee and explain why, but that is about the all the Club can do. The player has the legal right to play where he/she wishes play. Even my son chose to play at Cheltenham(but that's another story). It is probably about time some clubs lost their pettiness and just play the game and stop being a general bunch of a#$eholes and at times holding back the sport in it's growth.

Hey OMR, do you know any of the specifics in the situation that Sueridgepipe is alluding to or are you just making a general statement?
Can anyone be more specific here? Who's the player?

Regardless of whom the player or club is it is an absolute joke that the club in question have held this bloke back for two weeks even after the coach at said club has wished the player all the best if thats what he wants. ABSOLUTE BLOODY DISGRACE!

a bit off topic but closely related. player A gets cleared from club last week, happens to be facing old club on Sunday.
first time up to bat, 1st pitch gets drilled in the batting box. next time to bat obtains a walk -1 pitch thrown over his head 3rd at bat guess what ?? HPB again !
no official action by the blue/s apart from warning the batting sides a/manager & pitcher not to retaliate.
i thought this game required at least a little bit of intelligence, or was there instructions being followed. either the pitcher/s are total tools or its a sad reflection on the club in questions ethics let alone to say of the actions of both of the umps involved.
and before Chardy jumps in i'm not saying that you cant own the inside of the plate but this instance was A bit bloody obvious even "Old Blind Freddy" could have seen it

H. a. y. so your saying that "non-regular" pitchers in that division have'nt got the ability to throw the ball less than 3 ft from the plate 3 times??
i think your having a hold of it!

I believe that both blues would have seen that they just 'missed their spots'
