Left Lismore yesterday afternoon had to preent trohies and give a talk at the Coomera Cubs baseball club north of the gold coast, i was amazed at the size of their club with nearly 300 memebers, i donated a WBC signed top which they decided to put up for Auction for Brooke, the auction got to $600 betwen 2 guys, i told them to stop and i wa[ould give them 1 each for $500 , so we made $1000 , got a cal lfrom the club today they want another wich i will get for $700, so for the evening they raised $1700 for brooke, another great effort from a great group of people and a great club.

On behalf of the Strathfieldsaye Dodgers Baseball Club we'd like to make a donation to Brooke of $2000 which was raised on Saturday at our clubs Grudge Match/Charity Day. :champ: A special mention goes out to the players, members and supporters of the Dodgers club as well as the greater Bendigo baseball community for embracing this day and giving so generously of their time and money. Last year we raised $1500 for Breast Cancer Research, and to top it this year with $2000 shows we have a special group of people associated with Baseball in Bendigo. Also thanks to all those who volunteered on the day and to those business' who donated the food and drink to help make the day what it was. Bendigo Baseball, you done good regards Luke Barkmeyer Secretary, Strathfieldsaye Dodgers Baseball Club

well done and a massive thanks to all who have contributed to Brookes cause. i didnt think we would hit the target this quickley but thanks to all in the baseball world and also to those who arent, it has been an amazing effort.
She has touched a lot of hearts, we have done our job now, it is all up to the great docotrs and nurses at the childrens, we know she is in great hands.
I know there are a few clubs that still have fund raising efforts going, we encourage you to keep at it, Brooke faces a 12 month rehab program which will cost the family thousands of dollars, i know waverley and preston have functions coming up so this will all help.
Preston baseball club are running a Aces game this Friday night at 6pm. lets get along there and support the casue not only for Brooke but also th ACES, preston have spent a lot of money on billboards and roast spits for the evening, lets ensure it is a success.
i cant get there myself but we have a fund raiser in queensland at the under 16 state titles.
lets make trhis night a massive success.
one last thanks again to everyone, it makes you fell proud to be in the baseball family.

After discussions between Preston Baseball Club, Baseball Victoria and Melbourne Aces, tonight's Training Session/Fundraiser at La Trobe University has regrettably been cancelled because of adverse weather conditions. www.baseballvictoria.com.au/default.asp?Page=88634

With tonight being cancelled (appropriate decision with the weather), we have unfortunately missed a wonderful opportunity to raise money for the appeal.
If the rumour is true that the ABL is no longer using Majestic as their kit suppliers, could the Melbourne Aces make the other players game tops from last season available for auction? Given the success of the Justin Huber auction over the past week, surely further auctions would raise solid funds for this most worthy campaign?

We will regroup and conduct our auctions and raffles over our up and coming events at our Junior meet the coaches pie night next Friday and our Cup Eve Calcutta. We will make sure we still raise lots of funds for a special young lady. stay tuned as we may also be rescheduling the Aces practice match.

If anyone hears any further news on this I would definitely be interested. As an avid collector of game used memorabilia I would love to extend my collection into more ABL gear. Admittedly I can't front the funds that the Huber went for but would love to take a shot! Please keep me updated Stu if you hear of auctions! Mark.

Big thanks to all that came out to the Pirate Cove on Friday to see the Aces and support and help raise some much needed funds for Brooke's appeal. It was great to see Brooke enjoying the night with her family culminating in a presentation of the first instalment of a cheque for $1,000. We are sure this will be more than doubled by the time we finalise our raffles and auction items at our Cup Eve Calcutta. Anyone wishing to purchase raffle tickets for some outstanding prizes or put in a bid for a magnificently mounted photo of Black Caviar personally signed by jokey Luke Nolan addressed to the buyer, as well as a diner with Justin Huber at TGF with $250 to spend or go for 4 premium tickets to the Essendon V Collingwood Anzac Day clash, these will be offered as pairs. Just contact the club for more details at prestonbaseballclub@hotmail.com
I would also like to thank Brooke's mum Sue for giving us a touching speech that really showed the families joy and gratitude to all concerned in achieving the target to not only help her daughter to improve Brookes quality of life, as she explained it will also help a number of other kids who would not be able to receive this much needed treatment in Australia without the generous assistance of our baseball community. apparently she was asked by hospital officials do you really think they will succeed in pulling this together. I suppose the baseball cummunity answered that question across Australia in hitting the target of $50,000 within a few weeks. The rest of the donations will go towards Brooke's rehabilitation over the next 12months. Thanks to Jon for bring this to our attention and driving this worthy fund raiser.

For those who have not read the update on the Baseball Victoria website, please go to the following link. www.baseballvictoria.com.au/default.asp?Page=92204Because of the great generosity of the sporting community - especially baseball - the appeal raised well in excess of the initial target figure, providing funds for effective rehabilitation once the procedure has been completed. We are informed that the stereotactic frame has been purchased by Royal Children's Hospital and will be used to help other young people suffering from Brooke's condition. While the procedure was planned for early in the New Year, Brooke has suffered a number of setbacks and has spent time in intensive care while her doctors are developing a strategy that will deliver the treatment at the best possible time. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
