Plenty of interest in the Waverley/Preston game, with the Pirates believed to have added a big name to their offence.

I can confirm that after a successful try-out last night, Mr Huber has made the Pirates roster this weekend.

Must be selling plenty of hot dogs down at the pirate park to snag that very handy pick up stu.
Great to see a high profile player moving to a club on the good side of the river.

Emerald to latrobe! You need like to change a couple of buses to get there. It is a great pickup for them, certainly add some spice to the upwey match next time.

With at least three of the runs unearned, Geelong plated six in the fourth in its 6-4 win over Blackburn. Rolling out Dean McIntyre, Shane Lindsay, Greg Wiltshire and Kyle Bedford, Essendon packed too many pitching guns in downing Doncaster 5-2, although Bravo and McDonald held the Bombers to their lowest score of the season. www.vicsummerleague.baseball.com.au/

A couple of Pirates spotted out at Waverley today. A solid seven innings stint by Buzachero and a hit, two walks by Huber (as DH) were great contributions, but four Wildcat pitchers strangled the Preston offence for a 4-0 Waverley win.

Rebels 14-1 vs chelsea. Winton grand salami, larry tells me he put one on the road over left field. I can only go off what he told me, so it must be true! I know the Rebs have discovered an untapped arm in the three's, but that'll come out in the wash eventually!

On the road over left field at Chelsea? That's about a 280 foot shot then Wyatt!! Would have barely rolled to the fence at Dandenong. ;-)
Sandringham 4 St Kilda 1 at a windy Albert Park where the wind blew across from left to right all day. I think in all the third basemen and left fielders of both teams combined to field three or four balls over the nine digs. Jeon the W for Sandringham and Da Silva made it three saves in as many opportunities with another three strike outs.
An ejection, a recinded protest, a four and a half minute at-bat and a couple of tense moments, but either than that, uneventful.

In other Division One games, Malvern blanked Werribee 6-0 and Cheltenham beat Fitzroy 7-1. In the first senior washout of the season (and let's hope there are not too many), Upwey and Melbourne didn't get a start despite the best efforts of the ground crew at King's Park. www.vicsummerleague.baseball.com.au/

Stu, I haven't played at Chelsea for ten years! Sounded big at the time, so if you want to argue whether it was a good shot, Larry can be contacted at 555 1432!

Pitching wedge to get it on to the road in left at chelsea. Not much more to get in on to the 1st on Royal Edithvale. 6 iron with a draw should do the trick. Still, a jack is a jack.

I know Blackburn are missing numbers,Roy Boys also. Only 4 in this weeks nine were part of previous years best nines. But there is hope for them as Pawley and Lethborg senior were seen to play in their winning 2nds on the weekend. If they are back this would mean addition of 2 quality hitters, plus quality catcher as only fill ins have been used that has hurt them and quality pitcher/infielder. Also missing were Lethborg junior and Joel Arnott. If they get all these back in the line up they will be close to the team of previous years and could cause a few upsets when on song.

I've been asked to clarify an earlier post. Larry has told me he hit it OVER the road! Not on it. Big difference I'm told.

An undermanned Bonbeach handed their first loss for 11/12 against a firing Sunshine outfit...a lot of un-characteristic errors made at crucial points by the jays, and the eagles punished them with timely hits and solid defence behind their starter.

any results from altona tonight? Ormond G/H win over a hapless Port Melbourne. Port where in front 5-2 with less than 10 minutes to go and we got up 16-5. It will be a long season for those guys.
