Mulgrave vs the wolves, at dandy, is quite big. Needless to say, willy own the Rebs of late. To keep pace at the top both teams need the win, so expect a huge effort by both teams. 2nd div is proving a great competition, and hopefully it continues this weekend.

Indeed wyatt.
Some great pitchers duels last season between the german import and jason lester. though "own" is a bit of a stretch. i do well remember being on the wrong side of a few hidings courtesy of mulgrave in years gone bye.
if last year was anything to go by then every win is going to be important again this season, with the potential to have a big bunch of teams in the middle again key wins early might make all the difference. some big games to roll out this sunday.
chelsea seem to have stepped up well and have a key game vs newport.
sunshine and sandy both looking to bounce back after convincing defeats last week,
springy vs st kilda, both teams trying to get some momentum
ormond with tough ask against a very powerful looking bon beach but definitely buoyed with the return of their import.
P.M. hoping to open the account against berwick
and after their run fest mid week waverly vs moorabin should be a great game.
best of luck to everyone.
go wolves!

Geelong Baycats nailed another close one with a 4-3 result over Cheltenham, the go-ahead run coming on a bags loaded walk.

Think I found the next Tony La Russa... Currently at a junior game watching the team up by 30 odd runs using the bunt to great effect. Three consecutive bunts so far... Talk about over managing.

Add in stealing stealing as well. No respect at all. Thanks for making sure our kids, some of which haven't played the game before this season, still leave the game with a positive outlook.

Time for that club leading by 30 runs to sack their coach!!! It is about the kids not the glorification & gratification of the coach

Sandringham 3 Sunshine 2 in a quality game featuring plenty of good pitching and defense. Took just over two hours for all nine innings. Irons and Jeon 8 innings for their respective clubs. Following on from his close out last night, Alex DaSilva struck out the side in the last innings. Mat Taylor the man for mine in the ones and twos. Eight innings of work for the W in the seconds and then a big pinch hit late in the ones.

Re the junior slaughter game (30-0), I passed a neighbour in the street yesterday arvo and he told me about that game and that his son was part of the losing team. He was fairly philasophical about the drubbing as he is a very easy going guy but he couldn't talk too long 'cause he was on his way to watch said son play in a cricket match.

rebels too good for the wolves 4-1 great tussle between the two clubs, in a pretty even match up.
rebels import was impressive over 8 giving up just 2 hits and one run.
wolves new recruit shane waters had a great start throwing 5, scattering a few hits for 2 runs.
p.s. good work on the chicken rolls after the game ;-)

Great to see Chopper back on the diamond yesterday at Essendon. Good to see he's taking it easy too, catching all but the last inning, as he came on to throw. Caught 7 games at the latest masters tournament too, by all accounts. Our 3 female players spent an hour with him after the game and received from great insight and instruction from a great competitor

Couple of good games at La Trobe last night, the ground is in the best shape it's ever been in.

Password, two parts to that post. One I totally agree with, one I don't.
La Trobe is looking (and playing) sensational. Agree.
Couple of good games. Disagree. Malvern totally outclassed on the night by a superb Bomber line up. Bats asleep all night and relief pitcher sucked.

Any update on Shane's face? It didn't look good.
With the amount of quality players on the Bombers roster, l'm surprised he was even playing.

Happy to report that he is fine (so to speak)
He has posted a photo update on facebook.
A black eye and a rearranged nose and a hell of a hangover type headache.
But happy to say he says he will be up and pitching this Sat against Doncaster.

I'm surprised Shane has permission to have a few at bats down at Essendon.

He has no one to tell him not to, he's a free agent as far as I last read

That's true. He was outrighted to AAA Charlotte on October 16 and a couple of days later declared for free agency.

How about the heated discussion in the car park at la trobe last night between a bomber parent and the 1's coach. The coach handled himself well. I'm sure the parent could of gone about it in a better way or maybe let your son speak to the coach if he has a gripe

Info it was not just any junior parent but part of coaching staff as well.

Not rocket science - look who coaches their senior teams.
