I umpired the Blackburn vs Malvern 3rds game last Sunday. Congratulations to Malvern for a good win and playing with such great spirit.
The only unfortunate incident was the injury to the Malvern baserunner on second who was hit on the jaw by a pickoff throw from the mound.
I know he was taken to hospital for xrays, does anyone at Malvern have an update?

The young man has been checked out...Facebook confirms no fracture or breaks, just his jaw has been jammed into the joint, causing inflammation and discomfort. All reports suggest that he should be fine to play on the weekend.

Thanks for the feedback.
That's good news. It could have been a whole lot worse, nothing is as bad as trying to consume a roast and 3 veg through a straw while your jaw is wired up!!!!

Stevie didn't have the best day... Came in to pinch run and without a pitch being thrown, he wears a pick off in the jaw.
Great job on the weekend phil, you guys were both consistent and good for a laugh, it really does set the tone for the game.

Heard he will be, I'm trying to source a Hannibal Lector mask for him.

Nice, and appropriate with Halloween just around the corner!
