Can't wait for game time! Tips and results?
FTG vs Blackburn (at Upwey FTG) Chelt vs Malvern (at Cheltenham) Essendon vs Preston (at Essendon) Fitzroy vs Geelong (at Fitzroy) Melbourne vs Doncaster (at Melbourne) Waverley vs Werribee (at Waverley)
Should be a couple crackers in there. Will be interesting to see what rosters teams are putting out there this year.

I knew when I made the call not to post divs 1 - 5 last night because it's a pain in the a55 to cut and paste that much on an iPad that somebody would make that comment puma. In answer, I posted the division I play in. Please feel free to do the same yourself.

A good game of baseball played at the Dome today and the Tigers went down 7 - 4 to Blackburn in the Brendan Hopcraft Memorial game. A good showing from both teams and Tigers should be ok for the season with Blackburn featuring in the 4 again. Good to see a Yung man on the hill

The mully grubs win 14-3 away to Newport, just in case anyone else was interested in the 'vfl' scores! Wiz threw a complete outing in his first foray for the Rebs! Good work boys!

Sandringham 6 Chelsea 3 in Division Two. Yes, there is a Division Two this year. Matthew Holmes the W with 8 innings and Alex DaSilva a three strikeout save. Twos won by Sandringham 5 or 6 to 1 and threes won 9-8. The fours went down to Sunshine 11-10.

Down a few more divisions Monash Uni's summer resurrection continues to do well. Two teams this year, div 4 and 5. Div 4 beating one of Chelt's Korean teams 17-2 and div 5 winning a to-and-fro battle by a single run, scored with a bases loaded walk.

Waverley 11 - Werribe 0 in 7inns Waverley 4-3 over werribee in the seconds. Waverley 3's forfeited to Werribee. Lead to believe this means that all grades recieve no points.

melb 5-4 over doncaster. 3 unearned for doncaster in the 8th made it a tight finish. doncaster's younger guys did themselves proud and will be a tough team this season.

Malvern went down 11 to 3 against the Rustlers. Lando solid through the first five innings with the Braves holding a 2-0 lead. Some defensive miscues and a couple of free passes enabled the Cheltenham bats to do some scoreboard damage in a big 6th inning.

They did a good job the young dragons. We will be ok! Great start by Andy Mann taking a no hitter into the sixth, and Jordan Mitchelhill with a major league play in the hole to his left was awesome! Great game, played the right way. Welcome back to Div 1 Melbourne B.C

Wolves 10-5 in the season opener vs Port Melbourne. big thanks to the port boys, always a great game with lots of history between the two clubs.
of note was a triple play in the top of the 8th to quiet a potential comeback. f4, 4, 4-3.

Bit quiet this week boys. Seasons started, how about we get excited! Looking at 2nd div, personally I think it is wide open! Any one of 6 or 7 teams could win it. But that's only for folk interested in the 'VFL'.

But that's only for folk interested in the 'VFL'. Of course it is wide open, only one week in! Anything can happen, be that players figuring out how to play at that level or injuries or age, or whatever else. I do think Mulgrave, Bonbeach and St Kilda will be at the top, just too much offensive firepower there. With the others, just depends how they hold other teams and if they can push across a few they will get their wins that way.

wyatt, it's very early days but I'm tipping that Sunshine will be among the leaders in Division Two.
Rory Meddick threw a complete-game no-hitter on Sunday. If memory serves me correctly, he was MVP or thereabouts in Division One just a few years ago. With him on fire and with quality players like Irons, Shaun Moore, Kugele and Galloway in the lineup, the Eagles will be tough.
Even more so if they choose to bring in an import. Someone similar to workhorse and competitor Jason Benson from a couple of seasons ago would be a real bonus.

If Rohan Brasher gets anywhere near the form he used to have as a kid, which I hear isn't too far beyond him already, then you've got probably the best shortstop in div 2 and one of the best hitters as well.

Agreed. Sunshine probably under performed just a little last year, and will only be stronger this year. As for wide open... I think there's only half a dozen clubs that can truly entertain the prospect of playing finals.
