Beautiful story on ABC TV this evening regarding equine superstar Black Caviar.
The champ was bred by Rick Jamieson of Harry the Hirer fame. A humble man in the sport of kings, Jamieson created a hugely successful business empire before embarking upon a burgeoning horse-breeding career that already places him on the world stage.
As others might recall, Rick was a former baseballer who played with Research in the Diamond Valley League during the 1970s before going into business as Harry the Hirer.
With elements of a classic rags to riches story, the Jamieson narrative is surely an inspiration to any person with the commitment and the work ethic to take some chances and to “have a go” at something different in life.
Black Caviar runs in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot on Sunday morning.

I have to agree, KC, a good story. Nice to see a baseball connection there too.
