Ah, don't you love winter baseball?

Ducks 7 berwick & dingley B3's 0. Sweeney reserve under water so no game.
Berwick won a4 by a couple with the blue jays first timer making the final out of the game being caught on the warning track with bases loaded.
Wasn't at the ones but understand Berwick won by a couple with I understand an uncommon decision in the last dig?

After a rain delay and with the lights turned on after the third, Ballarat Brewers hung on for a 1-0 result over Guild in the GBA match of the round. Bacchus Marsh looked poised for its first win before Deakin put up a five-spot in the sixth for a 5-3 result. Saints took the long handle to Bellarine in a 16-4 game that was restricted by conditions to five innings. www.geelongassociation.baseball.com.au

Lesson learned today for the improving NC Rebels in B Grade going down 4-3 to StKilda after seemingly being in control all day 3-1 up and then two big hits late from the StKilda boys turned it into a 4-3 loss.
The NC Rebels 2's won 21-1 after the Saints boys did a great job cleaning up the diamond (with a little help from us). And our 3's I hear were down 4 or 5 late but scored 10 in the last Vs Donky to get the W.
The lass from the hockey club selling stuff in the Canteen at StKilda pushed a can marked 'retirement fund' in front of me as she gave me my change after I bought a pastie etc .... still not sure if it was going towards her retirement or she was suggesting it aught to be going towards mine after the game I had !

Waverley B looked quite impressive with their 6-0 win over Bundoora..some talented young players and well coached by their veterans. Could be the team to watch for future rounds. P.S. Pat on the back for the Waverley guys in how they worked to present their ground..was about the only place in the area not under water.

B Grade Forest Hill 19 - Ringwood 5 The Eagles' bats woke up against a good young Ringwood side.
B Reserve Forest Hill 6 - Ringwood 7 An error riddled game with the final out being at third base, CRIMINAL!
p.s. - Why is there always 1 game's result missing from the MWBL webpage??

Not sure if this is the game your talking about.... B Grade : Lat Uni Vs Ess @ Lat The match was a washout and declared a no game. Due to the early game going approx 17min overtime this necessitated a late start to the late game. Just as it was about to start some light rain starting hitting the ground. It was approx 3.25pm by the time the rains stopped and the ground mopped up. Lat Uni picked up a couple of runs in the early inns but it was to no avail as the rain returned at 4.10pm. (45mins total) That ended up being it as the umpires called game due to conditions deteriorating further.

KB19, because we don't get all clubs ringing through scores. At the moment, non-phoning of scores, late or NO receiving of match cards and no MVP votes are a major problem, as is late and VERY late payment of monthly invoices. We fine clubs for these indescretions but in a lot of cases it just doesn't seem to do any good. Our administrator sends out reminders, but alas, no joy. If all the MWBL players and clubs want ladders updated by Sunday, then speak to your club committees and make sure someone is responsible for making sure scores are phoned through, match cards are filled in correctly and sent within 72 hours of the completion of the game and then the ladders and results will be updated straight away - and this is both seniors and juniors.

Dingley over Frankston 7-6 in 10 inings. Frankston up 5-4 most of the game b4 getting an insurance run in the 9th. Dingley scored 2 in the bottom of the dig to tie it up b4 scoring again in the 10th on a play at the plate. Great game by both sides. Dingley up about 10-1 in the a2 game

Watsonia up 2-1 64 minutes into the A Grade game when the rain kicked in so no result. Watsonia one minute away from sweeping GB across four sides. Matter of inches sometimes, matter of seconds this time!

Another good day of baseball in Bendigo, with another day dominated by good pitching.
In Scots vs East, John Taylor and Aaron Sherrif went blow for blow, both pitching deep into the game. Eventually East were able to take advantage of some Scots miscues to prevail 7-4. Scots continue to improve and it will only be a matter of time until they crack their first win.
In the Falcons vs Dodgers, it was the veteran Troy Waterman against young gun Josh Cruze. It was a well pitched game by both, and very tight throughout until the Falcons were able to put a few across the plate to win 8-2. There was a heavy collison at home with Falcons Nathan Larson and Dodgers Geoff Holland, fortunately both were ok and even after Geoff was laid out still has the cheek to grin after being told he held on the ball to get the out.

Good point Andy..I was observing only from the hills to Waverley. Great to hear that the sometimes maligned Billabong was in such good condition.

Amazing. Normally you'd be drowning in the yabby holes after that much rain at Billabong Park...
