Yanks 1-0 up in the 9th, give up 4, blown save and a loss, welcome to baseball without the greatest closer in history.

Bar the fact that it's a tragic injury to the bloke.....don't think there's too many people out there upset about that!

Not withstanding Robertson doesn't usually throw the day after throwing 25 the previous night.
Still, splitting two games against Tampa isn't overly bad, I mean, you could be losing two straight to the Royals after Baltimore's first baseman threw two scorless to beat you.
But what's the odds of that ever happening?

It sucks. Disappointing for fans of baseball who won't get to see him pitch anymore. And ending careers with knee injuries like that, I know first hand how crappy that is.
I've been to a number of MLB games, but one of the best things I've seen was Mo coming out in the 9th at Yankee Stadium. Very cool.

I'm far from a Yankees fan, although I do admire their place in the history of baseball. It would be a shame if Mo's career ends this way. I hope he gets back next season for another shot.

Bar the fact that it's a tragic injury to the bloke.....don't think there's too many people out there upset about that! I think "tragic" is going a bit far..... He will get fixed and will be back and was in the last year of his career. Untimely injury perhaps?? A "tragic" injury would be something that happens to someone at the start of their career and ends it for good IMO.

Former All-Star Closer gets the save for the Yankees today.

Baseball moves on and Soriano and Robertson should be more than able replacements until 2013 when Mariano has declared he will come back.
One thing that cannot be disputed is it is hard to replace a guaranteed hall of famer who has 5 world series ring, most ever saves in a career etc etc..
Enter the Sandman = game over!!!!!
