Congratulations to former Major Leaguer Justin Huber on being appointed to the position of Participation Manager with Baseball Victoria. Given Justin's background in the sport, his profile and the high esteem in which he is held, this appointment could represent a real opportunity for the advancement of Victorian baseball. www.baseballvictoria.com.au/?Page=84544

Congratulations Justin. It would have been nice if the BV article made some reference to his current Summer club (Preston) though

I've just realized why "the establishment" doesn't respond to anything because when they do open their mouths they make themselves and the sport look foolish and selfish!

janet, I'm not quite sure to what or to whom you are referring and how it relates to this thread.
Perhaps you would like to explain.

Congratulations Justin. It would have been nice if the BV article made some reference to his current Summer club (Preston) though Why would the article need to make reference to his current summer club, which he as been at for about a minute? They didn't make reference to any of his other club level past, aside from starting at Upwey Ferntree Gully in Tee-ball...

The article is about what he can and is hopefully going to bring to the sport. Who cares what club in Melbourne plays for, except to say that he started somewhere and it happens to be the club that has produced the most major leaguers in Victoria.........

Stockley, I would have thought that part of promoting the sport here in Melbourne is to let people know where they can go to see really good players like Justin play. Bubbie drew a crowd at Preston for his games so why wouldnt BV add where Justin is currently playing in their media article ??

There's nothing to explain because I don't know anything about "what" or "whom" but I beleive there is a very long survey/study underway to explain what this sport needs! Or does a very long time make us forget that?

I'm confused Janet. How does Justin Hubers appointment (the topic of this thread) lead to the conclusion of "foolish" and a "selfish" establishment. Am I missing something?

Don't be concerned people, being confused, feeling foolish, seeing selfishness and missing something is all part of being a good "silent" Australian baseball supporter!! Lets all hush now and take our medicine!

Lets all hush now and take our medicine! Im all for 'accountability' janet as you seem too be too BUT surely you also have to be accountable for what you say herein as well ! Feel free to be critical but if you really want to help our sport how about something more constructive than what you have thrown into this thread ?

Janet, you still haven't answered the question as to what this has to do with Justin Hubers appointment, again the TOPIC OF THIS THREAD!!!

I appreciate the interest but all I will say is: KC, I would NOT like to explain anything here! authentic, seems to think that Justin and "bunnie" (a baseball journeyman and "BV's people's choice winner" ) being mentioned in a BV press release might keep Preston in DIV 1! HARDLY! target, has shown he/she can spell my "TAG" correctly! eckersley43, sorry yes you are missing plenty, thats the problem! duckfart, must be 10 years old and is looking for a good game of "aggetts"! broohaha, I didn't answer it the first time so why should I when you repeat the same question! and P.S authentic, as for 'accountability' I've posted 19 times on this forum and your asking for accountability from me when the "full time paid employees" of this sport have been un-accountable since the beginning of time. What a surprise your "ALL" asking questions of the wrong people!

Great logic Janet! You say the point is I am missing plenty, which would make some sense except that it is your cryptic and unexplained assertions that are creating my "ignorance" I have come to the conclusion that you CAN'T not WON'T explain the problem with the appointment. I apologise for not being your mind reader, but I usually get to work with something significantly larger.

Must say, as an "outsider" I've only just read this thread. What started out about a good man for baseball in Justin Huber, then continued to befuddle my small over worked brain the more I read. Janet, would you like to sit on my couch tell me what is troubling you ? You must have an objective to your concerns, possibly valid and if you explain, maybe the forum members can help with some feedback?

..........still lost. I'm actually concerned that Janet is amongst the baseball community talking such jibber jabber. Agree with texas, if we knew what you were carrying on about Janet, something might be able to get resolved or at least understood! Then again again maybe you shouldn't be getting all this attention when you carry on like a child.

Or does a very long time make us forget that? I first heard mention of this survey about 5 years ago. At the time I was a club secretary and playing up the ranks in summer and winter and asked when the survey was coming to me... or anyone else in baseball circles who I happen to sometimes share beer and poor conversation with. Nada. Heard it was still underway. So don't hold your breath... Or do... I don't care either way.

Back to the topic at hand, I think this is a fantastic move. For those who have had anything to do with Justin, I'm sure you'll agree that you couldn't imagine a better role model for any participants in our sport. Great bloke, fantastic work ethic and a world of experience under his belt. Best of luck to him and I just hope he gets the support from everybody in our community that he deserves.

barb05 gets it in one!! I'm not here picking fights with anyone and how you interpret what I've written here isn't my problem and what have I actually said wrong? I'm not judging anyone! Am I?

Janet, WTF! What does some survey that's apparently still under way that was started 5 years ago have to do with the current appointment of Justin Huber to BV. If you've got some sort of grudge or itch that needs scratching either start a new thread that everyone can contribute too or please explain how it concerns the current thread topic or shut the hell up!

brooha ha..I second the motion. Janet's comments don't require interpretation because they are incomprehensible.

Janet (if thats your real name).... What everyone is trying to say is that you posted an encrypted message in a thread which had nothing to do with the message. So that we can all understand you or have a discussion, just start a new thread - its really easy. And to Justin - well done mate. First met this guy when he was about 16 and he was playing with the big boys and held his own both physically and mentally. I swore when I first met him he was about 21/22 and someone told me he was 16 - almost fell off my dinosaur.

broohaha, eckersley43, chardy what are you the "forum police"? I've noticed how the FORUM threads always go off topic so you guys aren't doing your job properly you should spend more time saving world hunger than worrying about what I'm getting at!
"Janet's comments don't require interpretation because they are incomprehensible." I'm almost insulted! and the junior numbers and programme should get better.
chardy (if thats your real name).... pops up a week late, when all's done because he wants to know. I've never met him! I'll leave you to it.

Having been involved with Justin over the last year at Preston all I can say, with all due respect to Baseball Victoria, this is the best appointment they have made in a long time. This is a massive leap of faith for Justin. I hope we all get behind his efforts to make things happen for the long term prospects of our sport.
As for Janet maybe back off the sprits for a while or maybe the meds wear off by the afternoon.

Further to Justin’s new role at VB…….outstanding presentation at our committee meeting during the week out lining how VB will help develop more participation for all the clubs. Forward thinking and very inclusive. Plans to visit all clubs to share ideas, those clubs looking to get a jump on the summer season should contact him.
