Although it could have gone either way as the scores ebbed and flowed Springvale batters looked more aggressive (maybe so many walks to Waverley in the semi set them up to sit on the bat a bit too much in the early stages) quote] Smith threw well, kept the ball down early in the count and just kept getting people out until she ran in to some trouble mid game.

Better Venue and atmosphere when coupled with more food and beverage choices will win everyday.

A quick public acknowledgment for Con Papanicolaou who steered the Wavo D3 team to a GF win this year. Con took over this team 3 years ago when they were starting out as the second team for the club and through patience and persistence turned them in to a good group.
In fact the Wav women's program would not be anywhere without the outstanding family effort of Paula, Con and Artie (stepped aside in recent times). I'm not speaking out of turn here when i say that the program doesn't get a huge amount of support from the club, other than those close spectators who are there most weeks.
A D3 win and D2 runners up is worthy on field recognition and reward for the tireless work of the Pap Clan.

[quote author=splitfinger Seems a lot like now that the mens/masters titles have been decided there is no care factor whatsoever about the womens finals.
Good luck to all participating on Saturday. Here's hoping for 3 closely fought games. [/quote]
WHO CARES! Get over it!
