A couple of massively important Division One and Two games today and a swag of senior and junior finals to be decided on Sunday.
Best wishes to all teams.

Rory Meddick threw a nine-innings shutout for Sunshine to down Mulgrave 3-0 in Divvy Two, qualifying the Eagles for promotion next season.

Blackburn win 5-1, I heard Cheltenha beat Waverley..... Blackburn will need to improve greatly if they are to advance anywhere deep into the post season. For a side heading into finals they were very lack luster. Almost like today's game was inconvenience to them. Werribee gifted some runs on the back of some ordinary defense and a few seconds players getting a run.

Shame coach Phil didn't make it to the Waverley game today. Maybe his mind was already on North Balwyn business

When playing a team that was more concerned about mouthing off and throwing at players I think Werribee was the team that looked lack luster

Correct Blackburn did win. I may be mistaken but i think there was 1 hpb for the game. Werribee were certainly lackluster yesterday and have been for most of the year. hence why on the back of a sunshine win werribee are heading for divvy 2. I am pretty sure I heard a lot of lip from both dugouts yesterday. So let's not play a game of who has the highest moral ground.

Congratulations to the Sandringham Baseball Club who won the Division Two 2nd IX Premiership today with a 5-4 victory over a gallant Newport Baseball Club, who trailed 5-0 late in the game but in true Rams spirit, refused to concede defeat and gave the Royals some fright late in the game.
The win is Sandringham's first senior premiership under the VBA/BV guise for just over a decade (the club has won three DBA premierships in that time).
Well done to all players and congratulations to coach Adam who was at the helm for a near perfect season, losing one game, to Mulgrave (I believe with Markus Solbach on the mound for at least part of the game - by a run).

A very long season came to an end for the PM Mariners on Saturday with a 20-3 loss at Sandy. That left the club with an 0-59 record for the season across the 3 teams. Obviously an understatement to say that the club will need to take a good look at where it wants/needs to be next season and moving forward. Port played their last game where the ground is currently, with the Masterplan of Murphys Reserve will see the Kevin & Sandra Longstaff Field moved closer to Plummer Street, which will see the home plate about where the 2nd sacker would normally stand. On a bright note, The Port Phillip Rays did win a Little League GF which was the first of the combined junior program.

Malvern 3s got over Melbourne 27-3 in 5 innings yesterday.
A completely unexpected final score for two teams fairly evenly matched through the year. A massive crowd out at surrey park for the game.

StKilda won their first (and second) senior premiership/s in 12 years yesterday.
In Division 3 after a 1st inning that involved 9 runs and had St.Kilda leading 5-4 both pitchers worked their way into a groove, the result being just a further 3 runs were scored for the remaining 6 innings of ball. A solid game of baseball and a 7-5 final in favor of the Saints.
In the Div 2 3rds, St.Kilda finished their solid season with a 10-0 win over Mulgrave in 5. The game's duration was apparently just 75 mins.

Little burst tells me that at the start of the game - the Blackburn catcher yelled "here we go everyone, welcome to the bottom of the ladder".
I'm all for a little banter - but when it comes down to being sheer disrespectful - then I get angry at the club as a whole.
Yet you have the tenacity to try and pick out an easy target in Werribee to complain about some mouthing off.
Sorry but if that's how an arrogant team wanted to start playing a game against my team - I would find every way to show them as little respect as possible.
But then again - are we surprised by these comment coming from Blackburn??

Was Hump catching? Unless he was drunk, I couldn't see him saying something like that. If he was drunk - sure, He would say it.
Not sure why a team on the bottom would provide any lip at all either way??

Larry42 are you forgetting that PM has 4 senior teams not 3 as you stated or don’t you count the Womens side as a senior side, at least they won 2 games this season.
