Even with a minor baseball diversion out west, there is huge interest in the outcome of Summer League games this week.
Blackburn (vs Fitzroy), Cheltenham (vs Essendon) and Waverley (vs Geelong) all need wins to stay in touch with the Divvy One leaders, while Doncaster and Werribee will both be desperate to win their Saturday game.
Upwey and Preston have stars missing for their clash - which could go either way - and Melbourne should be able to handle Malvern, although the Braves have had a couple of big wins in recent weeks.

A lot on the line for some Div1 2s and 3s as well with a lot of teams fighting out for a spot in the top 4. Finals placings will likely go to the wire this season.

It's great time of year! Footy starting soon, finals just around the corner, weathers great....what more can you ask for! More rebel victories maybe...

Cheltenham and Essendon game was abandoned because of rain and ground conditions.
Geelong 7-4 over Waverley after the Baycats held a six nothing lead.
Melbourne 7-1 over Malvern.

Some very interesting results in 2nd div. Big upset ogh beating bonbeach, and sandy dropping a game, allowing sunshine to jump up to second. Some great games with the run home, withe the rebels playing sunshine, bonbeach and berwick three our of the last four games! Real test to see how the 'grubs' are traveling! A

Big thanks to all the Springvale girls for a good game down at Port Melbourne on Saturday. Also thanks for hanging around for a drink after the game.

This rain going to upset any games tonight? Not pleasant at park orchards, and the lightning is a little unnerving too!

A little bird told me things got a little heated down the "Farm" midweek. A turtle took umbrage with some hubris and some prior players' family got verbal and then shouted down. Sounds like any number of people may have a case to answer. Bloody work kept me from being there, it sounds like it was one that as a spectator would have been specfabulous!

Really hard to work out which family that might be...
Using the word hubris should be a fine.
