Every round is important at this stage, and all Division One clubs have incentive to do well this week.
Essendon vs Doncaster and Fitzroy vs Cheltenham games are on Saturday.
At least three crucial games in Division Two, with Sandy/Berwick, Springvale/Sunshine and Williamstown/Newport all having a bearing on ladder placings.

Word reaches me that following a rain delay or two, Sandringham eventually got the chocolates over Berwick 8-3 (ish).
Jeon for 7 (2 runs) and Holmes for 2 (1 run) for the victors, who got a big knock from import Jason Ganek, who cleared the fence with the first pitch back from the rain delay.
In all, game took about four hours to play, and with a near two hour rain delay, it was somewhat ironic apparently that the players were being blinded by the 'Sandy sun' for the final two-three innings.

The PMBC bought up a milestone on the weekend with the 1sts teams loss to Bonbeach making the senior teams a combined 0-50 for the season. A win must be coming soon!!

It's a credit to all at PMBC for showing up each week. I've been through similar circumstances before. Although the club might be struggling at the moment,it shows the backbone of players and members who continue to field the teams to make it a competition. Remember, on a baseball day, anyone can win.

Division 1, mid week at the Farm. Cheltenham 8- Malvern 1. Congrat's to young starter for the Rustlers' Yoshi Campitelli to pick up his first win in his biggest outing in the Victorian Summer League and also 'Brando' Stenhouse getting his first hit (reaching 1st, fielders choice). Watch out, the young guns are still coming from the Farm.

Wyatt 33 Why don't you just stop crying and get over the fact that Mulgrave are not going up to Divvy. 1 - no matter what the result of the Div. 2 finals (even if you guys do make the finals). For years and years your club has been too lazy to get their act together and get their junior program in order. I can recall when you were still in Mulgrave 10 - 15 years ago and you had a squillion kids running around on a Friday Night. Where are they now? - GONE!!!! You guys were too lazy to get off your a***s to give these kids coaching. In those days a lot of the coaching came from dedicated parents because the Mulgrave seniors (apart from a couple) couldn't be bothered. It's the same old Mulgrave addage - I JUST WANT TO TURN UP AND PLAY, AND GIVE NOTHING BACK TO THE CLUB. Your club struggles to get quality Junior coaches. If you get more kids next year I have no confidence that Mulgrave will be able to provide decent coaching for them to progress into young baseballers with the topline skills required to keep your club at the forefront of success. I see you have moved to Dandenong's ground a couple of years ago. Maybe you guys can milk Dandenong for Juniors. I heard earlier that they had a team in every Grand Final last winter. They must be doing something right. I suggest you hang on to their coat tails and see where it takes you.

Nice one peanut! I've been their almost since day dot, and yes we did have a lot of kids running around...20 years ago! 10 years ago, we were down to only two senior teams! Personally we've done a great job to get to were we are! As for coaches years ago, well it's not reasonable to bag blokes that just wanted to show up. We had plenty of guys who've coached while playing over the years, but we've also seen plenty of our kids go on to play state and national rep baseball. But of course as soon as these kids start showing some talent, the vultures started to circle! Starting with Luke Dimmett, Nigel Camm, Mick Lucas, grant Canterbury and Grant Miller were all kids that worked their way thru the juniors to play state baseball, and as soon as we turned our back, a certain couple of then div 1 clubs were talking to parents about moving them over to their club. An example of this type of recruiting was highlighted by Theo being approached about Paul going to a certain club, but replied"Why? He's already in the Australian side!" Needless to say some of these other kids parents weren't as interested on how they got there. Funny thong is of those kids, I wonder how many of them are still playing. I think Dymott is still having a hit, but where the others. Anyway,as for the leagues stance, I realize we don't qualify by the current standards, but if you think it's good for a team that doesn't play in a grand final, or and still go up, then it doesn't look good. Maybe they should just have a league for the haves and then another for the have nots. Seems to be the attitude of certain people on the baseball community. Anyway we'll see what happens. It's a moot point if we don't even play in a grand final!

Newbie here. If I want to go to Melbourne ballpark to watch a double header of div 1 games do I pay for parking and entry? If I want to go watch essendon on a weekend is it similar to going to the local footy. I've been to a few aces games and am interested in seeing a local team play Cheers brad.k

Tonight at the ball park. Werribee came 2nd to waverley 9-2. Werribee giving up 6 in the first. Chris Webb starting for the giants. Adam Blackley for Waverley. The evergreen Earl Byrne turning back the clock in relief to go 4 and 1/3 for 3 hits no runs.
In the late game Sunshine downed Berwick 5-3. A few interesting plays went down to say the least. Meddick went the distance for Sunshine. While Veale went for Berwick relieved by young Chillcott.
