GO BRAVES!
The interesting thing was that earlier in the game the Braves had been giving the umpire a lot of stick, and Nate McLouth and Freddi Gonzalez had both been tossed already.
Was it a hurry up call? I think it was about 2am local time...

What are you suggesting Goblin .... the Pirates won't be participating in the Umpire Appreciation Round this Saturday?

Also, interesting to note that the umpire who made the call is the third base umpire in today's game which just happens to be the side the Pirates dugout is on. Could make for an interesting night!

Clearly there's no zero tolerance rule in the majors!! ;-)
To coin a phrase from Footy Classified: "Bad call, Hutchy."

Galarraga's numbers aren't great, but you might find they're slightly inflated. The ball travels in Reno, not to mention the gigantic outfield. I'd imagine the rest of the rotation might have fat ERA's as well. I wonder how much he thinks about it... A year ago, he's one blown call from a PG. Now, he's giving up a run an inning in Reno...

At least the umpire in the perfect game incident admitted outright he had made a mistake. This tool said "It appears he might have made the tag" ? WTF? Is he blind??? Even in real time the tag was obvious.

Yeah, well, time for MLB to move into the 21st century and introduce a Decision Review System. It's got rid of all that "umpire cost us the game" rubbish in Test Cricket & tennis. I bet John Deeble would have liked it at a certain game v Cuba!!!
