Please tell me it isn't true !?!?!? Rumour has it, Cheltenham have used another DBA clubs player to pitch in a B1 game last week....AND LOST !!!
Does anybody know what the fine is for this if it's true? They can't have points off them but surely there will be a (large) fine imposed?

been looking for what you were on about and bam! here it is! large fine i would not think so as the DBA would not know how to resolve this issue. there may be many weeks of meetings and several different problems and by the time they actually reached a decision it would be to late

Far from it slypig, there is a set process and it is usually very quick at being discovered... Unless the person was listed under another persons name (and got away with that) on the matchcard. Otherwise each player on a matchcard is checked against a DBA database (not myclub).

The player was seen by a member of their own club. Just happened they the club he would usually play for had a bye that week. Very odd set of circumstances. Also heard the player in question got stabbed or "slashed" with a machete over the weekend. I obviously can't vouch for the information however it did come from a VERY reliable source.
Ohh slypig, thanks for the phone call early hours of Sunday morning too. Can't believe you ran out of coke !!!

Going by what I have heard Spice from a reliable source, the player will be suspended for the rest of the season and the club will be served with a fine!!!!!
Coke is always a night killer once you run out Spice!!!!

Also on the other subject about the player being machete/slashed over the weekend, he has lived to fight another day with a scratch on the shoulder!!!!!!!!!

Shame on you titta! No personal attack on you but you take it apon yourself to go at spice when your club and the player concerned have done something wrong and have been cleared in a couple of days!! What is the real story?? you say it's all been handled (by who? The league is still "stumbling" it's way through the winter carnival debarcle) and you tell us Chelt have been cleared in a couple of days!! You do a good job at your club but they and you do make errors in judgement. If you open your trap to defend this club anytime a mistake is made, you and your "chelt nation" will have won a bunch of titles in a competition that will cease to exist! How can your club be cleared of any-wrongdoing when the club the player needs a clearance from still know nothing about it?? If your sole purpose is to defend your club choose better issues to get involved in!!

hahaha dag really! first you say titta take it personal and gets involved then you go write that?
of course he is going to defend the club, you wouldnt be a very good club person if you didnt.
not sure if you would be the person to not defend or maybe even attack your club but i would say it is natural to defend your own club.
yerp we have won a bunch of titles you are correct and maybe oneday it may not exsist who knows. but you play and have also won a couple of titles in this league also. if you think chelt is the one killing the league you need to get your head read!

Cheers your friend, Titta Titta, In future, before shooting your own mouth off in reply, read what it is you're replying to. I never said it WAS true. "Rumour has it" and "if it is true?" make it pretty clear in my opinion (and in the opinion of the law) that I'm in no way confirming the validity of the rumour. I felt that it may have been a topic of some interest. Turns out it was. And I've never professed to be any good at anything other than my job, at which I'm exceptional.

I have heard it from a couple of reliable people blake. One being a president of a winter club with which came a warning, do not sell before the liquor licence starts, and do not sell to anybody underage.

To clear something up..... Cheltenham was short on the day and the player in question was filling in. He was asked no less than 5 times if he was registered with another club. To which he said no, so therefor put on the team sheet under his own name. He has since been suspended for 12 months. Don't know what sanctions the club received. And yes he was slashed with the back of a machete, bit funny for all the wrong reasons.

Bull, I sighted the letter from the DBA about a fortnight ago. The player was suspended for the rest of this season. Also got a suspended sentance of 6 weeks hanging over him for the whole of next season. Not much use when he doesn't play any more. The letter then stated Chelt received a fine but didn't go into detail.
Titta, "Find out the real story before shooting your mouth off." (Gramatical errors edited)

Didn't realise the forum had become a thesaurus, but whilst we are on it, I think it's sentence Spice, not sentance.
with regard to the Cody Wilson issue, I know the kid made a silly mistake that given his time over again wouldn't hesitate to correct. He is a wanted and required player at Frankston and when he is ready to commit properly to baseball again, he is most welcome back with or without a suspended sentence over his head. As a very talented junior, he has a lot to offer senior baseball and it would be a shame to lose him from the game before he gives his talent a proper test.

I am sure we can all move on from here, but you know, that I know what you know and that's all that matters. Cheers, Clarko.
