Victorian under-aged Winter Championships started at the weekend, with Geelong winning the Under 18 series (in Geelong) and Ringwood Green proving too strong in the Under 14s (in Ballarat).
Association-oriented coverage is provided on the Geelong and Ballarat websites (the host leagues).
In response to questions about the lack of timely coverage on the BV website, I've taken the liberty of posting reports (slightly modified) and details on the state website.
My apologies to anyone who feels that their winter league has not received the coverage or recognition that it might have liked.
Let's see if we can do better for the upcoming Under 12 and Under 16 events.

Under 14 All-Star teams (City and Country) are here, bushman: www.geelongassociation.baseball.com.au/?ID=77036I don't have a full list for Under 18, and don't know if one or two teams were named (one, you would think, with just six teams). Selections from GBA were Cameron McNish (pitcher), Andrew Medew (first), Jarrod Durston (third), Jeremy Young (shortstop) and Matthew Belfrage (DH). Others, anyone? Maybe the teams will turn up sometime on the BV website.

There are nearly always some familiar surnames in these youth All Star sides isnt there :-)
I heard last night that Blake McIntyre (Preston/Watsonia) made the U18s All Star team (Left Field perhaps) ?

I believe that you are both correct. There were two divisions in Under 12. Diamond Valley took Division Two and it seems Ringwood won Division One.

Under 16s at Mildura
Dandenong 7 defeated Ringwood 1 in the City final.
Madden & Stenhouse combined on the hill for Dandy to throw a no-hitter!
City All Stars - that I can remember ...
Pitcher - Lachlan Madden - Dandenong Catcher - ? First Base - Adam Love - Dandenong Second Base - Chase Hodkinson - Ringwood Third Base - Steven Bookluck - Ringwood Shortstop - Brandon Stenhouse - Dandenong Outfield - Tim De Rose - Diamond Valley Outfield - Callum Stevens - Diamond Valley Outfield - ? DH - Mitch Graham - Diamond Valley
Keal Kingston - Ringwood was in there, not sure if catcher or outfield.
As per usual, well run tournament by the Sunraysia Association. Great weather both days .... then it poured down about 30 mintues after the last game.

The Under 12 and Under 16 championships were played last weekend, correct? 16 and 17 July? Apart from the bits and piece of valuable information posted on this Forum, where else do we look for all scores, All-Star teams and reports? There's bugger-all on Baseball Victoria. And as my son points out, the Under 12 link goes nowhere, anyhow. Somehow will correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Baseball Victoria now oversee all of the Winter Championships - senior and junior? Whose responsibility is it to post results, All-Stars and other information? Whoever is responsible is not doing their job. This is especially disappointing for the kids and their families, who are led to believe that getting in representative sides is an achievement. Apparently it's not. At least our administrators don't seem to give a stuff.
