Looking forward to catching a bit of the game on streaming video tonight Journeyman. Very interested to see Tanabe, the little catcher, who isn't strong with the stick but is outstanding defensively (threw out 51% of runners at Class A ball this year). Also keen do see Denny Almonte. Very high on him despite an average start in Perth.

Yes Stu, it should be good to get a first look at the Bite, who it seems may only get better once all the players are available.

Journeyman, Adelaide's press on sports other than the obvious few like football, cricket and racing is outstanding. The Bite get great coverage and Boti Nagy is still perhaps the best beatwriter of the second-tier sports in the country. If only we had this in Melbourne like in the old ABL, where there was upto a page devoted to the Reds/Monarchs with full boxscores too.

You're right stu, Adelaide's press does do a good job. We do sometimes complain about the coverage, but at least they do give us some. If only we had a journo of Nagy's experience doing baseball. It's not often that you get a person who has experience of playing doing the reporting. Baseball can only dream about the coverage that Basketball gets.

A sensational game from the Aces pitcher Kikuchi last night, 6 innings, 2 hits and 8 strikeouts and that was the Bite done. I won't say anything about the Bite hitters not being able to hit water if they fell out of a boat, but.......
Let's hope they can turn it around in today's double header.

Game 1 Friday seemed to have everything, a grand slam, a walk off home run and a couple of blown saves. a shame that there weren't more fans at the game to appreciate the effort of both teams.
Let's hope tonight's game is as good.

A wise man suggested back on October 24 that Almonte was a smokey for MVP of the league.
Showed why this morning!

Box score say 700 attendance journeyman which i thought is exeptional for a friday morning game. Im guessing you were there, did it seem like that many?

I believe the Bite had a schools day, or something liek it, where they got a lot of kids in to watch the game.
Two home runs by Almonte and an exciting finish would have been good for them, and if of the crowd they got 500 kids and 10% of them take up the game from the day, then there's over five full teams of juniors who would be new to the game.
Well done Adelaide...off the field. I don't wish them any on field success for the next couple of days! ;-)

I didn't make it to the day game but did get to the game on both Friday night and Saturday. The attendance on both nights was okay, just over the 1,000 mark. I felt that both games were worthy of bigger crowds, but it seems that the 1,000 figure is going to be the norm for most series. Until the "non baseball" people start to come out, if ever. The on field product is as good as it gets, although the pitching is still a bit suspect in my opinion. And that is only going to be worse when the two Japanese guys go home in January.

The Bite got off to a good start in Canberra with 2 wins from the first 2 games. Almonte with 4 hits and 1 home run so far doing the job again.
Go Bite.

There's already an 'M' in Almonte. At the end of the season we may need to find the 'V' and the 'P'!!
