Bottom of 15th inns, Huber on 1st, Josh Davies pole axes a moon shot deep over the right field corner for his 2nd HR of the night.
It maybe a short porch at right but there was nothing cheap about Davies hit as it cleared the double containers by a good 70 ft.

What an epic game of baseball last night. Not to cold, not to hot and not wet! Great atmosphere, good crowd (even the vocal blue sox supporters), 15 innings And a bloke in the bleachers caught a sky high, foul ball, with his head! He needed stitchs for sure but when a 1000 people are yelling "Heads", you really should look up.

wow what a sound it made as it bounced off his head. we were sitting one seat back behind him and looking up up up and it all sort of went quite, expecting someone to try and catch it I started to stand up as the wife started to duck, why do people look away when there’s a foul ball. I looked down and the poor guy was looking at the ground, to late. It hit him fair and square in the middle of the head right on the button of his cap. Thwoooook like a miss hit when the bat cracks if you know what I mean. He looked up rocked around and a few people started to laugh but quickly realized this guy was in trouble. Blood started to spill out everywhere as people helped him up to the first aid area. He was given a towel by I think the nsw eo who was right onto it, great effort. Hope he’s ok….every time a foul ball hit the concrete after that everyone felt a little sick. Only ever seen something like that a Preston when a mum covered her baby from a foul ball and hit her head and almost bounced as high as the foul. No cut just a huge lump. Must have been a jinxed area last night as the wife spilled a whole hot chocolate over the person sitting in front later in the game.

Fortunately scalp cuts tend to look a lot worse than they actually are. Since there are so many vessels on the surface of the scalp for blood to the brain, any cut can create a lot of bleeding. As long as there are no skull/brain problems (& considering the gentleman walked to first aid, highly unlikely) his skull should heal quickly and he will be just fine.
It was comically amazing seeing how high that ball bounced upwards off the head. Confident he's okay physically and hope the embarrassment is minimal or nil.
Thankfully the netting is good and most of the crowd balls fly high. Remember at Claxton last year a guy ducked one of the quickest top edges I've ever seen - which if he didn't get under it could have been very serious.
Hope the gentleman and a couple of thousand others can come out in a couple of hours to cheer on the Aces logging a couple more wins, climbing the ladder and building serious momentum over the league leaders.

There was about twenty spectators all around this bloke, all trying to catch the ball that was coming down, but not one of them managed to get a hand on it. This bloke was sitting in the middle of this pack and next thing the ball got trough all the hands and bounced at least 8 ft back into the air off his scone.

That EO would be Terry O'toole, ex Australian team trainer and Daikyo Dolphins/ Gold Coast Cougars Trainer, probably the best trainer in the business

Congratulations to all the Aces players who played this weekend.
As someone who caught all the action over the 5 games it was a series with a lot more highs than lows.
Both teams got their share of home runs and it was just a case of the Aces doing so with runners on base when it mattered.
We have now made serious inroads to moving ourselves up the ladder and look forward to seeing out the pre xmas part of the season with an even better series against the Cavs and the Bandits.

Reading the series stats in KC's excellent wrap of the series, wow www.baseballvictoria.com.au/?Page=71715I have got some video action of some moments of the series which I will post once I manage to sort thru them. Pretty sure I have Andy Russell's grand slam shot in the mix.

This is a thank you post on behalf of the players and staff to a lot of key people who assisted in making this a successful series for the Aces. To all of the field staff, both paid and voluntary, who worked so hard in preparing and maintaining the field for this series......a huge thank you. We all know it's not where we all want it to be in terms of an ideal playing surface, but by golly, it has a lot going for it. And that is thanks, in no small part to the aforementioned staff and their collective efforts.
The announcers & promotions staff are working hard to make it a fun, enjoyable experience at the SHOW, and you know what, I believe it's working. There are bugs in the system, no one can truly deny that, but one by one they are being eradicated.
And to you....the paying public.....Aces fans.....what an endorsement that on another somewhat changable weekend weather wise, you still turned out in quality numbers to witness the event.
Let's get this straight, this is not the big leagues, not even close......but it's ours and it's gaining momentum as a very good standard of baseball, played in a very competitive nature, with a huge dose of respect from everyone involved at the Aces, for the game, for the people who have been before us in Australia in this great game, for those who will come in the future, and to the fans who are prepared to throw their support behind our team.
Come next series we may win, or we may lose, but we will not disrespect the fact that the people of Victoria are there to support us and to that end, you will see a contest.
I'm still trying to imagine what it will be like when we fill the stands to capacity......I can't wait. And we wan't YOU to be a part of it.
Thanks again to everyone, sincerely.

Huber kept coming up to bat to the same song. Does anyone know what the song is called?
