Just thought I would throw this question out there to see what others come up with?

From a Mexicans point of view........what is the make up of your league? How many games do you play per season? Do most teams play winter also? How many juniors involved? NEW Senior players joining for the first time?......Is it just your club?

Three things i notice. An adverage player costs clubs over $3000 to transfer if they want to change clubs...why would a club, so they quit. We lose them as fast as we gain them. Secondly we play Sunday...family day, most guys i know who have quit are tradies...work in the morning, play in the afternoon on a saturday, then family day sunday. Lastly, our juniors are not coaches by baseball people mostly, as they are all playing sundays!

Good points espn, especially the coaching for juniors. All clubs have difficulty finding junior coaches when the juniors are playing the same day as seniors! Who were the Einsteins who thought moving juniors and senior divs 1 and 2 on the same day would work.

Goof, I hear you mate, how do you change the thinking of some people. They just don't get it.
Players getting tired, that is a classic statement, how is your survey/petition going, are you going to publish the results at some stage so we can all see them?

JM.. As a Banana Bender.. I do not often comment on other States Baseball... BUT If SA Admin has a $3,000 Transfer fee in effect on an amateur sport ? THEY are totally ( fill in the spaces _ _ _ _ ED ) Mate... You need a new State Baseball Admin QUICK.

Actually the top transfer fee is $6000, and removing the current board is not so easy to do. In fact to be honest everyone complains, but not too many want to stand up and be counted when it comes to a solution.
And until people do want to be part of the solution, then they are part of the problem!

I don't want to appear to be negative about all the comments to this thread, but until such time as the people who complain get themselves organised and become a voice for change nothing will happen. No one listens to the lone voice in the wilderness, whether it is one or several until they combine their forces and make a change!
Get organised and do something about it.

Maybe the senior players from each club could come up with some proposals to change the current ordinary ideas that the sabl have put in place. It would be interesting to know how many comitee people from around the clubs/sabl have played ball at Div1 level.

Journeyman, here were the results of the short term survey and some comments. I didn't want to run this too long as I wish not to put too much negativity out there, there is enough already. Attachments:

Thanks goof, it is pretty conclusive that the short season is not a winner with the people who replied to your survey. What was the leagues response?
And I especially liked the comment "2 umpires running a league doesn't make them experts in player development."
How true!!
