Very good line up racer , nearly a clean sheet of home breed boys Yep 350 not bad at all and that guy at number 9 wasn't any good until he came down here and we taught him how to play some 10 years ago now This was my "whatif" lineup last night, probably should be in the Dribble thread because it won't happen for quite a few years yet, our homegrowns are still at college/university really learning how to play the game. We will give the big market teams a run when we can get our kids back together Well that's a bit of a tease, ol' racer....and probably had a few clubs quaking in their cleats. So if the two Ricketts and the Spence boys will not be playing, and if Matt Ryan gets cleared to Blackburn (as rumoured elsewhere), then how are the Baycats really travelling? Not that the club - like any - will be clear on their personnel just yet....

well Duke as one that is not as close to the coal face as I once was, I'm seriously not sure as to the cattle on the park this year, but if nothing else, Holmsey will have them fit!! do as I say etc etc, but they will account for themselves very well
Our kids that won the U18 title last year will get a fair dinkum go at proving their worth as has been shown in the last couple of years.
We have the best facilities in the state but also the tyranny of distance , which doesn't bode well for attracting the stop gaps, our kids will do us proud....as always!!!

I tried to get him to the bombers but was too late (you snooze you loose). I think he will be the biggest pick up of the year. Get him off the hill and have him hold down 1st base would be my best advice.

Essendon have a wealth of Kids ready to push for a spot in the ones Sam Moon, Chris Lane, Jarrod Rogers. Tambo is fit as I have ever seen him and when he is fit he is one of the best going around Yes we do have some good juniors coming thru with Lane, Moon, Rodgers. Others to look out for this year will be Abels, Gell, Sayers, Bedford. Also had a couple of new ones at practice today a hard throwing lefty from the bush Petrie I think was his name. Could be very successful pitching in the 2's this year and a yank exchange student who is attending Melb Uni played college ball in Maine seems to look the real deal. Tambo had his first intra squad at bat the other night and the first pitch he saw bounced off his Knee cap courtsey of Casey Jones. Tambo might be the most unluckiest ball player in the country.

Lane, Moon and Rogers (on his day) can play. Abels... not quite so much. Gelly can play as well, very underestimated player. Aaron Petrie finally made it down to you boys... hmmm got a pretty decent arm, but not the brightest upstairs, and has never controlled a fastball in his life... Best of luck to him though. Darkness33 I think you might be trying to steal chardy's mantle of writing "rough" comments. At least he does have some runs on the board to back them up. Rodgers hit .300 last year in div 1 so I think that "on his day" must mean game day. Abels is a legit prospect, with his arm, speed and flashes of power he will become a very good player. A type of guy that it wouldnt surprise me if he ends up with a pro contract somewhere down the line once it all comes together. Petrie turned up to practice today and throw a really good pen, and I think will do a very good job in div 1 2nds this year. Negative comment's on his "upstairs" intelligence is very poor form. *we cant all go to Ivanhoe grammar or scotch college

.... Obvious shortage of 1st basemen at the Dragon Den. true they do have a few 1st base options there at the dragon's den, but I do think Oriely could be a major asset for them. I think his bat has to be in that line up. Cam Ross I understand is back playing summer for them and he is a quality ball player. I think doncaster will be improved on last year.

haha well thats true Masters, i cant say im much older than him? and pitcher? according to other people im an "infielder" (i fail to see that either...) lol i could say ive outhit Jarryd (and then gave him a haircut after it...), but then i'd be considered arrogant and get ripped apart like theres no tomorrow! (but the haircut... thats a funny story for another thread)...

O'Reilly has looked very good with the bat at training. I have noticed his power. Cam Ross is yet to show up, but apparently is confirmed.
We would need to improve to make finals this year. Divvy 1 looks a little stronger this year.

Get him off the hill and have him hold down 1st base would be my best advice. True johne, Jake has tremendous power and when he squares one up can hit it as far as anyone in the league, no doubt. He's a stout young man with terrific bat speed. My opinion: Dragon's will need to work with him on plate discipline and swinging at HIS pitches, rather than the pitchers pitches. His stat's last year in Div. 3 are as follows: .250 avg. - 16 hits, (4th most on the team), 16 walks (led the team), 12 K's and reached base 41 times (2nd most on the team). So jumping up to Div1 will certainly be a challenge if he wants to improve those numbers, but I think with the right coaching and plenty of opportunity (in other words, don't yank him out of the lineup if he has a bad 1st day), he'll begin squaring up balls and ballgames in a hurry. Best of luck to him up there, but the first round of games will probably be a bit of an adjustment. Certainly playing winter ball and seeing a lot of pitching there can't hurt!
