With Korea doing the right thing by downing Cuba, Australia has qualified for the Super Round of the Premier 12.
Our lads are scheduled to play Japan on Monday evening (9.00 PM start our time), Mexico on Tuesday, United States on Wednesday and Chinese Taipei on Saturday 16 November.

Continuing a trend into the Super Round, Australia was able to generate superb pitching and play quality defence whilst not quite being able to produce offence conversion against some of the world's best arms. A deflating 2-3 loss to world number one nation Japan and a 0-3 result against a thus far undefeated Mexico has made it super-tough for the Aussies to qualify for the Olympics through this tournament. We would need to win both remaining games - against United States (Wednesday) and Chinese Taipei (Taipei) to have any chance of finishing ahead of Korea and Chinese Taipei. Even then, other results (especially for Korea) would need to fall our way. premier12.wbsc.org/en/2019/news

Extraordinary 2-1 result over United States! Brilliant pitching and stellar defence by our team, which plated two in the first and held on for a memorable win - our first over the U.S. senior team in twenty years. The Aussies will now have two days off before a final Super Round game on Saturday, when we have a chance to notch a further win - over Chinese Taipei - that may yet secure a berth in the bronze medal game pending other results. premier12.wbsc.org/en/2019/news

Australia's Premier 12 campaign has come to an end with a 1-5 loss to Chinese Taipei after stranding a string of runners on base and being taken for a gamebreaking four-spot spot in the bottom of the eighth at Tokyo Dome this afternoon. It was a disappointing end to a brave showing by our squad, which needed to cover a series of crucial injuries and unavailability but was still able to compete strongly against the best in the world throughout the group play and Super Round. The result enables United States to qualify for the bronze medal game against Mexico - with an Olympic berth up for grabs - while Japan will slug it out for gold with Korea, which has qualified as an Asian entry for Tokyo 2020. Australia will have a further chance at Olympics qualification in tournaments scheduled for March/April of next year.
