Well done to all the groundskeepers last week. Miracle efforts.
Sunshine @ Newport - Sunshine easy, playing good solid baseball the eagles.
Geelong @ Fitzroy - Geelong back on track here, will be keen to keep the momentum going. Geelong to take care of the lippy Fitzroy.
Essendon @ Sandy - Sandy at home here. Both clubs trending sideways.
Waverley @ Blackburn - Harder then it looks this one. Ill say Blackburn in a tight one.
Moorabbin @ Cheltenham - Moorabbin easy
Melbourne @ Upway - Melb leading from the front, all class, the ones to beat this year. Melbourne.
Over to you Mackem.........

Here goes for div 2
Williamstown over Ballarat @ Williamstown. Willy are on course for a good season
Berwick City over Werribee @ Werribee, Although Werribee will be stung by their lose to Pt Melb midweek
Preston over Bonbeach @ Preston. Preston being at home should get the job done
Springvale over Doncaster @ Springvale. One that could go either way.
Pt Melb over Malvern. Pt will be buoyed by their midweek win over Werribee
Mulgrave have the bye

Just a quick one, why does Div 2 and 3 have a bye? Why wouldnt you either move a team up or down to create an equal draw?

Good question which was asked by many clubs as well. turns out that past CEO had some arrangement with Port, who it appears were suppose to go to Div 3, to stay up. completely screwing up the draw. just another sign of poor management. and as such creating a precedence for any other club who finds them selves in the same situation.

I heard a rumour there was a treat of legal action if they were dropped, might be crap. I was told they hadn't met criteria for a number of seasons, also might be crap. Pakenham had the criteria to go up and were asked but are not in a position to be competitive in Div 2 at this stage.

Div 1 all winners were lower on the ladder than their opponents

Cudos to the Ballarat side today against Williamstown. Leading all the way to the ninth before Willy managed to snatch the game from the jaws of defeat. Special mention of the Ballarat pitcher Jagger Harjo(?) who I believe went the whole nine, had about 17 strikeouts and about 170m odd pitches.

Well said, homeplate! And thank you for making that gracious comment. It has been a tough season (probably couple of seasons) for the Ballarat City club, which has been working hard to consolidate its presence as a summer entity. A gutsy effort by Jagger Harjo, who threw 183 pitches in the game. As you say, he whiffed 17 and was stiff to not post the Brewers' first win of the Divvy Two season. See report below. www.ballaratcitybaseball.com.au/

One........Bloody hell.
Well done to Cheltenham. Moorabbin typically hot and cold.
Well done to Waverley as well. They are better then their ladder position and only need to hold it together against Sunshine Thursday and Upway next Sunday. That will put them in good position down the stretch to make a real run at finals.

Relying on an import pitcher to throw a full nine innings game won't work for you. We'll see how the first game back after new year goes. It was a good pitchers game with 32 strike outs

Wasn't there on Sunday, mackem, though I am sure that stretching Jagger that far was not his or the club's preferred option. Four other firsts pitchers were not playing.
Jagger has not thrown more than five or six innings in any prior game.

Your right KC definitely not the clubs preferred option but Jagger wanted the opportunity to win or lose that game and he wasn't going to give the ball up easily. Like you mentioned unfortunately the club did not have any other pitching options on the day, but that situation will not be repeated again this season.
