Ess V Sandy last night was due to be the early game at Altona, our Secretary was emailed Monday afternoon that our game had been changed to the late game at Latrobe Uni. The email stated "In an effort to reduce travel time for teams, time and venue changes have been made to tomorrow nights scheduled games resulting in the change of time and venue for your game". Sandy was never consulted about the change, it doesn't reduce our travel time and last night's results show that Geelong V Fitzroy played the early game at Altona, if so why ?
Changing the fixture that had been in place for several months the day before a midweek game, then play another game in that slot and justify it as an effort to reduce travel time, something smells fishy to me.

Spot on Pirates, it's disappointing that these changes are left to the day before the game.

They don't care and there's zero accountability from anyone at bv about the state of the game. This is one of many incidents where the clubs and members of the Victorian baseball community have been treated like dirt! There needs to be some sort of shift in the way our games run. This is an Olympic sport, so it's time the government stepped in and had a look at the utter incompetence in which this sport is being run. When was the last time there was a P&S meeting? Where's the consultation? There's none and hence there no accountability. And I'm pointing directly at the boss Justin Huber! He's in charge but it seems since then, things haven't been going very smoothly. Aces lose there biggest financial backer in jet...why? These decisions that get made at last minute that affect the clubs on a day to day basis. The standard of the game hasn't improved and even with the implementation of the charters, I personally don't think little league baseball is anywhere near as good as it was 20 or 30 years ago. Sorry for the rant but there'll be good people waking away from this game in droves if something's not done to fix it.

Wyatt - what do you mean 'there will be good people walking away'...there already has been a shift in people being involved. The game and the incompetency at a junior level, general BV level and the state of the game has a high bearing on the club vounteer who is knee deep in the day to day running. i dont have to tell you. There's something i term as the Bermuda Office. its an Office that sits in a corner of a building not far from the Albert park lake. Generally anything over the last, god knows how many years, that ventures in to that Office doesnt get seen or heard from that often after that. The fantastic decision to move to Charter Baseball by BA a few years ago has had a massive impact on the level of baseball that we are now seeing here in Victoria now. i still to this day, have no real idea what our focus is in early development (Are we Aussie Tball...Tball Smash)
