Can anyone shed any light on what happened at the mid week game Doncaster @ Mulgrave?
Have been hearing accusations all over the place the last few days. Manager ejected, umpires not ready to play on time, both teams complaining and BV not giving a sh*t about anyone or anything.

After further digging today the rumors are and dont shoot the messenger either, I'm just putting it out there.
Game was delayed due to ground.
Teams got ground up and running and ready to play only to find the umpire not changed and ready
Mulgrave manager went to plate meeting wearing inappropriate attire whatever that means. Street clothes maybe?
Umpire acted inappropriately and unprofessionally towards both Managers.
Many people have had trouble with the umpire over the years and have had enough of him and his attitude toward managers, players and the game itself.
Complaint made by both teams about said umpire to BV and BUAV. No reply.

Same rules apply to players and umpires IMO, if its not fun anymore its hard work and time to make a change in your social activities. The league needs to address the growing gap between officials and players. If things don't change more people will walk away from the sport.

Just making a observation that there are a few umpiers that act like they dont want to be there and show nil respect to players and officials. If they dont enjoy the game anymore move on. I recon we can all guess which umpier it was at the doncaster game.

Yep, that's fair enough Pirates.
Well he does have quite a reputation, even Luke Hughes has an opinion of him.

A lot of your info is correct. Umpires didn't get ready till well after posted game time, even though we were getting the ground in playable order. The umpires called the mangers meeting 45 mins after the posted start time due to the fact they took so long to get ready, even after repeated attempts by both clubs to get ready earlier. At the meeting the umpire asked mulgraves manager to get in uniform, even though he had the club top and hat on he had his shorts on as he was helping working on the ground. As is the managers want, he dropped the game balls at the umpires feet aafter his request to get changed. He was ejected. As is bv's want, we didn't hear anything for nearly 3 weeks. Then we hear he has a tribunal appearence. Without any paperwork until the morning of the hearing, he was facing 3 charges. He surely received 5 matches for those and was basically thrown under the bus. This umpire is an absolute disgrace to the profession, and he clearly has a problem with the manager that stems back years. But the fact that nothing was done for weeks, and both clubs lodged complaints against the umpire in question, the league have shown their contempt for members and clubs in Victorian baseball. We've lost one of the best people in baseball because of it. And there's zero we can do about it! It's a bloody shame!

Wow!! Really! 5 matches? I dont get it. I actually dont know what to say.
What do you mean lost one of the best people. Has Warwick walked away?
What is this umpires problem? I havent come across a club that has positive words to say about him.Its widely known that he lies on ejection reports.
Waverley have officially asked that he not be posted to their games after numerous run ins and a ridiculous ejection of young Burkey. Burkey came out to catch and this umpire said what are you doing here your ejected. Young fella had no idea why or when.
Then we find out that this umpire was sledging young Burkey from the side lines at a schoolboy game. That is very very concerning and very un professional.
Very Unfortunate.

Something needs to happen Pirates. This umpire is the talk of baseball at the moment and i can promise you the talk is not good.
Yes you can eject a manager or player at the plate meeting.

So i turn up to watch the Aces friday night and butter me nuts and put honey in me ear if our friend doesent walk out to umpire first base.
Ive come to the conclusion that one, we are completely wrong or two, this guy represents what the current umpiring culture is.
God help the game in this state if its two.

Said umpire has always had problems. He has always thought he is better than everyone else.. From all accounts, it is the only power he can wield as he is girl thingy whipped at home..He is unapproachable and always has something to say. as a former manager, he was never easy to talk too as he was right, you were wrong and in between bad luck...

Can not believe this guy got an ABL gig this year. As predicted the moment he was handed a plate assignment, his strike zone wasnt up to the level and an ejection followed. This guy is embarrassing Stewart Howe and if i was Stewart Howe i would be deeply embarrassed.
